PlayStation officially pulled the curtains off of God of War: Laufey not too long ago, and since then, a lot has been said about the game.
However, because the series has exploded in popularity over the last few years, God of War: Laufey appears to be on track for a massive release. In fact, the game’s initial pre-orders are showing a lot of potential.
Why it matters: The God of War franchise has sold millions of copies as one of PlayStation’s flagship IPs, so expectations are high for the upcoming entry.
As seen on PS Store DB, God of War: Laufey pre-orders are looking very healthy ahead of its release on February 16.
In countries like the UK, US, etc., the game is currently the 2nd most-pre-ordered title on PlayStation. This means that the God of War entry is second only to GTA 6 in a lot of countries.
In fact, this seems to be a trend in most of Europe. As such, once GTA 6 arrives, interest in God of War: Laufey could soar further.
Note that PlayStation has yet to fully kick off marketing for the game. As such, this initial showing is extremely impressive, especially for a game that doesn’t feature Kratos in the lead role.
