- Marvel’s Wolverine is being review-bombed on Metacritic right now.
- The game’s user score has dropped to 6.4/10 following multiple ratings as low as 0/10 and 1/10.
- Legitimate discussions surrounding the game also remain largely mixed, something PlayStation likely did not expect.
Initial reactions to Marvel’s Wolverine over the last few days have been interesting, to say the least. The game has led to all sorts of reactions, with some praising it and others criticizing the experience.
Over on Metacritic, the official critic Metascore isn’t the best, but initial user reviews are even worse. Marvel’s Wolverine is currently being review-bombed on the platform.
Why it matters: Metacritic’s review-bombing problem is highlighted multiple times a year, and Marvel’s Wolverine is the latest game to be subjected to overly harsh user reviews. In the past, games like Halo: Campaign Evolved have also been impacted.

Over on Metacritic, Marvel’s Wolverine currently stands at an overall user score of just 6.4/10.
The game currently boasts over 2,700 user reviews, of which more than 34% are currently negative. However, the interesting part is that most of these negative reviews score the game as low as 0/10 and 1/10.
The reviews cite reasons such as Sweet Baby Inc.’s involvement in the title and Marvel’s Wolverine’s hand-holding nature. Some are as brief as “worst game ever” while rating the title absurdly low.
This is a classic case of review-bombing on the platform, something multiple games have experienced time and again. In Marvel’s Wolverine’s case, however, the review-bombing appears to be more intense than most first-party PlayStation titles.
This game should not exist.

These reviews aside, the current situation surrounding Marvel’s Wolverine is certainly one to keep an eye on. Most are now waiting on commercial performance to determine whether Insomniac Games’ latest release will live up to the studio’s past work.
