Don't Worry About Max Payne Remakes!

Story Highlight
  • Remedy announced Max Payne Remakes many years ago.
  • Despite the lack of updates on the projects, the team is still moving forward with work on the ambitious re-releases.
  • The team says it can’t say much for now, since Rockstar Games is handling the publishing side.

Remedy announced work on Max Payne Remakes back in 2023, confirming later that Rockstar Games would handle the publishing side of the projects. Since then, the team has had very little to share on these two titles.

Ahead of the release of Control Resonant later this year, Remedy has noted that the Max Payne Remakes are still moving forward.

Why it matters: The Max Payne series still holds a place in the hearts of fans as one of the most exciting third-person shooter IPs ever. Ambitious remakes from Remedy have fans looking forward to the series’ return.

According to Remedy’s latest financial report, the two remakes are still in active development. As for why the developer has stayed silent on the projects, it did not have much to say.

Remedy says that it can’t comment on Max Payne Remakes since Rockstar Games is handling the publishing side of things. This means that the team will decide when to kick off marketing for the two remakes.

Of course, Rockstar Games itself is busy with GTA 6 at the moment, so Max Payne Remakes are unlikely to receive any focus until 2027. By then, Remedy will also have released Control Resonant, allowing both teams to focus on the return of Max Payne.
