- Driveclub can now run at 1440p, 4K, and 8K through PS4 emulation on PC.
- The game still runs at 30FPS and the original resolution on PS5, making the PC emulated version better than Sony’s official release.
- Fans continue to appreciate Driveclub to this day despite the game’s age.
Lately, PlayStation has ignored many of its classics from older generations in favor of big blockbusters. Older titles from the PS3 era aside, even more modern titles like Driveclub and Bloodborne have yet to receive a proper remaster or PS5 upgrade despite fan demand.
Fortunately, PS4 emulation has breathed new life into a title like Bloodborne. ShadPS4 even boasts Driveclub running at 8K as of recent updates.
Why it matters: Racing games have generally stagnated quite a bit, so Driveclub shining through PS4 emulation could be a huge deal for starved enthusiasts of the genre.
Driveclub now running at up to 8K60FPS on PC through the ShadPS4 emulator. The game looks incredibly crisp running at this resolution, something that can be seen in the video shared above.
The racing game can be played at 1440p, 4K, and 8K on PC, which is something only possible outside the original PS4 hardware. This is a major breakthrough for a game that remains locked to Sony’s console ecosystem to this day.
Of course, because many fans still love Driveclub so much, this version is certainly a huge deal. Seeing the title pushed to resolutions far beyond the original console target gives the racer a second spotlight years after Sony moved on from the IP.

Thanks to emulation, PC gamers can even turn off effects like Motion Blur to tune the game to their liking.
As PS4 emulation continues to make strides, similar improvements are being made to bring PS5 titles to PC through emulation. Recent work on games like Demon’s Souls Remake, for example, has shown a lot of potential so far.
