Fans Now Want Modern Warfare Trilogy Ports As Well!

Story Highlight
  • The Black Ops 1 and 2 ports for PS5 are doing outstanding numbers for the console.
  • They have already managed to sell 7 million copies combined in just around 3 weeks.
  • Fans are requesting that Activision also port the Modern Warfare trilogy to PS5 as well.

Activision recently released two of its most popular classic Call of Duty titles on the PS5. They have been so successful that they even diverted players from the PS Plus boycott and the disk-cancellation uproar, and they’ve also posted great numbers.

A new report reveals that Black Ops 1 and 2 ports on the PS5 have sold over 7 million copies combined in just around 3 weeks since launch. Activision’s strategy team made the decision to port them, and it is paying off.

Why it matters: Recent Call of Duty releases have been kind of disappointing. Fans have requested several things and overhauls, but each new title every year ends up being more or less exactly similar to the last one.

BO2 and 3 PS5 ports have already sold 7 million units

Reliable Call of Duty insider CharlieIntel revealed that the Black Ops 1 and 2 PS5 ports have already sold 7 million copies combined. The reviews also prove that fans prefer the classic formula compared to modern releases.

Recurring issues have led to people giving up on newer releases. Last year’s Black Ops 7 was a disappointment and boasted poor sales as well. This year’s Modern Warfare seems like a much-needed overhaul, but let’s wait and see.

Additionally, fans are now also asking Activision to port the original Modern Warfare trilogy to PS5 as well. Considering how well the Black Ops ports have done, releasing its other major series should signal an automatic financial win.
