Development Will Take A Year or Two Less Than Other Modern RE Releases!

Story Highlight
  • Code Veronica remake is tracking 8-10 months ahead of the regular release cycle in the series.
  • The game’s development will take a year or two less than what it typically takes.
  • This makes it one of the smoothest development cycles ever for a Resident Evil game.

Capcom has been on a generational run, pumping out hits, one after the other. Only this year, they’ve had a perfect streak of releases. The Resident Evil franchise is at the core of this success, and there is still a whole lot more of it to come.

The studio recently unveiled the much-anticipated Resident Evil Code Veronica remake for a 2027 release. And now a new report reveals that the title is releasing a year ahead of schedule thanks to a very smooth development cycle

Why it matters: Capcom recently revealed that they plan to make it an annual release franchise, so it makes sense that they are making the development as efficient as possible, which is leading to reduced development time.

Code Veronica development is among the smoothest the franchise has ever seen

Dusk Golum revealed that Resident Evil Code Veronica is tracking 8-10 months ahead of its release schedule. It has been in development for a year or two less than other modern releases in the franchise, which is impressive.

Additionally, there is no reboot currently in development either, which helps with focusing on the remake. This makes it one of the smoothest development cycles in the franchise‘s history, even with late dev changes.

It is currently tracking to release ahead of schedule

Village released a year and a half later than its expected release. Requiem was also delayed a year due to late development changes. However, Capcom seems to have found a way to fix the issues and has become extremely efficient
