Resident Evil Remakes have been monumental in Capcom’s success over the years. Kicking off with 2019’s Resident Evil 2 Remake, the studio has been acing the remakes, and now it’s time for a highly rumored and sought-after title.

At today’s Summer Game Fest, Capcom officially revealed Resident Evil Code Veronica remake, titled “Resident Evil Veronica”, which has been rumored for the longest time. It gets the same next-gen visuals as the previous ones, with a 2027 release.

Why it matters: Code Veronica is one of the classics and among the highest-rated games in the franchise. Also, because it’s now over 26 years old at this point, a lot of the audience wants to jump back or experience it for the first time.

Geoff Keighley opened the Summer Game Fest with a blast, revealing Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake. The trailer was in first-person featuring Clair Redfeild. It will likely retain both the first and third-person choices as Requiem.

Anyhow, the highlight of the announcement was the game’s 2027 release window. Unfortunately, Capcom didn’t narrow it down or give an explicit date, so we will likely be waiting for that for a while for now.
