Following much anticipation, 007 First Light is officially around the corner. Being part of the James Bond IP, the game is already set up for success, and IO Interactive already has plans for a sequel.
Ahead of its release, the team continues to share more information on the title. IO Interactive’s latest information drop details PSSR 2.0 upgrades for the game, highlighting how 007 First Light makes the most of PS5 Pro.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, IO Interactive’s Principal Render Engineer has discussed the PSSR 2.0 upgrades in 007 First Light for the PS5 Pro.
The blog post notes that upgraded PSSR brings a cleaner image to the table, in addition to better stability in scenes with motion. Moreover, PSSR helps reconstruct hair and other detailed elements in a precise manner.
According to the blog post, these upgrades mean that 007 First Light is at its “visual best” on the PS5 Pro. Principal Render Engineer Jon Rocatis also notes that the team was immediately impressed by these results.
He states that the output from implementing the upscaler required minimal tweaking since the team was immediately happy with the results.
We integrated upgraded PSSR in about a day and were essentially happy with what we saw straight away.

This confirmation makes 007 First Light among the various games to support PSSR 2.0. Overall, PlayStation’s upgrade to the upscaling technology has brought about impressive results so far, and it appears IO Interactive’s upcoming title will only continue this trend.
