"Will Be A Solo Adventure and Character-Driven Experience, Not an RPG"

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag has been confirmed for a July 9 launch this year.
  • The official reveal was planned for today, but has now been pushed to next week.
  • Ubisoft has confirmed it’s a character-driven solo adventure, and not an RPG.

The Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is among the most rumored games in recent years. Its existence was officially confirmed just a little while ago, and while it was initially planned to be released in Q1 2026, it was delayed.

Some rumors pointed out that the game could even slip to 2027, but now it is reported that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will release on July 9, 2026. The official announcement was planned for today, but has been pushed to next week.

Why it matters: Black Flag is often considered the finest Assassin’s Creed game of all time, and with recent entries failing to impress, fans have quite high hopes for the project, especially since it’s a classic title.

Tom Henderson has revealed that Ubisoft has sent a 30-minute presentation to creators and media on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. And people who were worried that it’s being turned into an RPG, there’s some good news.

Unlike previous rumors, the presentation confirms that the title won’t have RPG elements; instead, it is a “solo adventure and character-driven experience“. This is really exciting, as it makes it a reincarnation of the original.

The Remake is now closer than ever to release

Ubisoft also doesn’t have to do too much. A graphical overhaul and slightly polished mechanics will be fine, similar to what Capcom did with Resident Evil 4. Anyhow, Black Flag Resynced is now closer than ever.
