- Game producer confirms that Resident Evil Requiem will be around 17-18 hours long.
- The playtime will be the same as Resident Evil 4 Remake, with similar chapters.
- The title will equally divide the playtime between Leon and Grace’s segments.
Resident Evil Requiem is just around the corner and is already slated to be a hit. It has become one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, and Capcom also revealed that pre-orders have exceeded expectations.
One big problem with the last couple of Resident Evil games has been the length of the overall story. Requiem will fix that and will be almost double the length of Resident Evil 8, with the story spanning around 17-18 hours.
Why it matters: Both Resident Evil 7 and 8 were criticized for being too short, at just around 10 hours or less. While the titles were great, the story length didn’t justify the full price tag.

In a recent interview, producer Masato Kumazawa confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will be the same length as Resident Evil 4 Remake. The latter, for context, takes about 17-18 hours to beat the full campaign.
Both the recent mainline entries were fairly short, so this new development will delight the fans. The game will be divided into chapters, and the length and content of the chapters will also be similar to Resident Evil 4 Remake.

We already know from previous reports that the game will be split 50/50 between Leon and Grace, so both will have equal playtime. The game presents two aspects: complete action with Leon, and horror with Grace.
Anyhow, this means that for players who like to get 100%, it’ll take at least over 20 hours, which is a decent length for a AAA title. Fans are also hoping the side-quests are as fun as the remake, too.
