Rockstar Co-Founder Says Red Dead Redemption 3 Is Inevitable, Regrets Not Being Involved

It Was Originally Supposed To Be A 2-Game Arc!

Story Highlight
  • Rockstar co-founder says there will undoubtedly be another Red Dead game.
  • He says that he’s upset he won’t be involved, as he loved the series more than anything.
  • However, originally, the series was supposed to just be a 2-game arc.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a global phenomenon and to date a benchmark for story-driven open-world games. Fans argue that it is Rockstar Games’ best work ever, and they have been waiting patiently for a sequel for so many years.

Rockstar co-founder has somewhat teased the sequel, saying that he believes that the studio will undoubtedly develop Red Dead Redemption 3, but the upsetting part for him is that he won’t be involved

Why it matters: Red Dead Redemption 3 has been in demand for the longest time. Unfortunately, Rockstar hasn’t given any updates, but maybe we’ll hear something after the release of GTA 6.

Dan Houser, one of the founders of Rockstar Games, recently sat down with Lex Fridman and discussed his journey at the studio. Houser has some of the best titles under his credits, including RDR2, GTA 5, and all previous releases.

I think it probably would be, in some ways, sadder if someone continued on Red Dead, because it was a cohesive two-game arc. That might be more sad to hear someone working on that, but again, that probably will happen

– Dan Houser

Houser talked about his love for the Red Dead franchise and how it holds a special place for him. He said that Rockstar will make a sequel, but his not being a part of it would be quite upsetting, as he left the studio in 2020.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered amongst the best games of all time

Originally, the game was supposed to be a 2-game arc, as it concluded the journey of various in-game characters across both titles. So, most will be curious to see where the studio will go with the inevitable sequel.

Nonetheless, Houser’s impact on the studio will always be prominent. He was involved in some of the best projects and will remain an integral part of Rockstar’s history. As to what Red Dead 3 will be, that is all our guesses.

What are your thoughts on Dan Houser being upset, as he won’t be involved in Red Dead Redemption 3? Let us know your opinions in the comments or join the discussion at the official Tech4Gamers Forum.
