- Resident Evil 9: Requiem just got a new horror-focused trailer at Gamescom today.
- The title returns to Raccoon City with Grace Ashcroft being the primary protagonist.
- The game comes out on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC on February 26, 2026.
Resident Evil 9: Requiem was announced just a few months back at the Summer Game Fest. The event that most fans found underwhelming suddenly got uplifted as the trailer came out of nowhere, and people absolutely loved it.
Now, at Gamescom 2025, we finally have a new trailer showcasing the gameplay and intense environment of the sequel to the horror genre’s unarguably one of the most famous franchises, and it looks really promising.
Why it matters: This and the next year are turning into a treat for horror fans as we already have Silent Hill f, Resident Evil 9, Hellraiser, and many other titles coming in the next few months.
The trailer opens with Alyssa and Grace Ashcroft working on some sort of case when the lights suddenly go out. Alyssa seems to be running away from something as she asks her daughter to follow her out of the room.
We get a look at the dark and creepy hallway, showcasing how horror is one of the biggest elements of the upcoming sequel. We also get a better look at the mysterious hooded figure that we saw in the first trailer.
Notably, despite many rumors, Leon Kennedy is still missing from the trailers. Resident Evil 9 is supposed to be a send-off for one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, and Capcom seems to be hiding him for a big reveal.
Nonetheless, Resident Evil 9: Requiem comes out on February 26, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. It reintroduces Raccoon City, a primary location in the earlier games in the series.
