But The Studio Already Has Plans For A Sequel!

Story Highlight
  • Playground’s internal testing reveals that Fable is a 5/6 out of 10 experience.
  • Despite this, the studio is confident and already has ideas for a sequel.
  • Recently, it was revealed that Fable will skip Gamescom, making fans worried.

Xbox announced a bunch of massive titles in its 2020 showcase. Among those games was the much-awaited return of Fable after years of absence. However, since then, everything surrounding the title suggests a shaky experience if it is finally released.

According to a leaker, Playground Games internally tested Fable, and it admits that it will be a mediocre experience. Despite this, the studio seems to be confident in the title and already has plans for a sequel.

Why it matters: Fable was one of Xbox’s most beloved IPs, but it saw a long hiatus as the last mainline entry came quite a few years ago. So, fans were hyped when they found out that the franchise is being revived.

Internal testing reveals Fable will be a mediocre experience.

According to Leek Taters, who previously correctly revealed the state of Fable, Playground’s internal test scores for the title predict a 5 or 6 score out of 10. However, the studio is still confident the game will do well.

In fact, despite the low expectations, the studio trusts the title so much that it already expects Microsoft to greenlight a sequel. They’ve learned a lot and already have plans and ideas if the sequel gets a go-ahead.

Fable was announced back in 2020.

However, the current state of Fable is quite worrying. Many were expecting Microsoft to showcase Fable at Gamescom, which is happening today, but it will be a no-show, so it is expected that it might be delayed yet again.

Regardless, it’s best to take this information with a grain of salt because even the most reliable sources can be inaccurate at times.
