- Over 800,000 players have already pre-ordered Battlefield 6 almost 2 months before launch.
- The game has also reached almost 2.7 million wishlists.
- Among them, according to a report, 62% of the wishlists come from Call of Duty players.
It is fair to say that EA has convinced fans that the Battlefield franchise is finally returning to its roots with the upcoming installment. The multiplayer trailer set high expectations, and the beta managed to surpass them.
For context, over 800,000 players have already pre-ordered the game on Steam alone, highlighting just how successful the beta proved to be. Considering other platforms, the total number of pre-orders is likely far higher.
That said, Activision said it isn’t worried about Battlefield 6, even though a report has revealed that 62% of its wishlists come from Call of Duty players.
Why it matters: Former Blizzard president claimed the next Battlefield will “boot stomp” Call of Duty, forcing it to improve after years of decline.

According to analyst firm Alinea Analytics, 62% of Call of Duty players have wishlisted the game. Among total wishlisters, 48% also own Battlefield 2042, 33% have played Helldivers 2, and 27% have played Delta Force.
Moreover, the game has surpassed 2.7 million wishlists, with around 1.67 million of these coming from Call of Duty players. On the other hand, Activision recently said that it doesn’t consider Battlefield 6 a threat.
The higher-ups said that Call of Duty is too big to die, so they aren’t worried at all. However, just Battlefield 6’s beta managed to shatter the all-time high peak of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Also, the game is on track to have 1 million pre-orders, almost two months before launch.

It seems Activision may have something to worry about, as much of its player base appears to be looking forward to the upcoming Battlefield. Though surprising, the figures are unconfirmed and analyses can be flawed, so fans should take them with a pinch of salt.
Some concerns were raised by fans after the beta, with the main issue being Secure Boot. The developer has acknowledged the feedback and promised improvements, though it seems unlikely that Secure Boot will be removed entirely.
