Over 605K Players Have Already Pre-Ordered Battlefield 6 on Steam, 2 Months Ahead of Launch

Expected To Hit 1 Million Pre-Orders Soon!

Story Highlight
  • Following the multiplayer reveal and beta, Battlefield 6 became the best-selling game on Steam for over 10 days.
  • The beta in particular was so good that over 605,000 players have already pre-ordered the game on Steam.
  • This number is expected to reach 1 million shortly, and on launch, it may break some records.

Battlefield 6 has taken fans by surprise, not just with its explosive multiplayer reveal trailer, but with its impressive beta as well. The beta was so well-received that it surpassed the all-time peak player count of Black Ops 6, hitting over 500,000 players.

With the beta’s high quality winning over players, many have already locked in their purchase. According to an analytics firm, Battlefield 6 has racked up over 605,000 pre-orders on Steam, and with two months still to go before release, that number is likely to climb even higher.

Why it matters: The beta impressed so many players that a large number went ahead and pre-ordered the game, confident that the developers would take major feedback into account to make Battlefield 6 even better, perhaps even removing the much-disliked Secure Boot feature.

Alinea Analytics Report
Alinea Analytics reports that Battlefield 6 has been pre-ordered by over 605,000 players.

According to Alinea Analytics, over 605K players have already pre-ordered Battlefield 6 despite there being two months left before it is released. These many pre-orders amount to around $35 million in revenue from Steam alone. It won’t be surprising if the pre-orders have already surpassed 1 million, considering all platforms.

The game also boasts 2.7 million wishlists, highlighting just how many players are eagerly awaiting its release. With two months still to go, pre-orders alone could climb significantly higher.

Former Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra has even claimed that Battlefield 6 will “boot stomp” Call of Duty this year, and the data might back him up. According to the analytics firm, 62% of Battlefield 6 wishlisters have also played Call of Duty.

While Activision reportedly doesn’t see Battlefield 6 as a serious threat, believing Call of Duty is “too big to die,” the numbers suggest they may want to rethink that stance. BF6 is gunning for the throne, and if the competition heats up, it could be the most brutal shooter showdown in years.
