Asks Them To Blame Veilguard As Much As Possible!

Story Highlight
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the most hated game of 2024.
  • As a result, BioWare’s relationship with EA appears to have deteriorated.
  • A veteran from BioWare asks the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to blame everything on Veilguard and get what they want from EA.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was arguably a failure by BioWare, which was pretty well known for the franchise. It was voted the most disappointing game of 2024, as fans were extremely unhappy with it.

The game’s writing was the main issue, and every writer who worked on it was fired by BioWare. So, EA won’t be happy with the developer after such a colossal failure, which is why a BioWare veteran has some advice for them. He urges the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to scapegoat Veilguard as much as possible to get what they want

Why it matters: Dragon Age: The Veilguard is arguably one of the biggest failures in the history of gaming. So, using it as a scapegoat isn’t actually a bad idea.

MrMattyPlays recently interviewed Mark Darah, a BioWare veteran, on YouTube. Darah shared some insights into the current state of BioWare and the development of Mass Effect 5, the next major game from the developer.

EA is notorious for its attitude toward developers, as it openly hates failure. Many developers have found it difficult to work with the publisher. Also, it seems the developer will steer away from some aspects of The Veilguard, which attracted negative reception, so maybe there won’t be a forced agenda this time.

As EA is hard to work with and, according to some reports, the publisher continuously interfered with the development of The Veilguard, Darah urges the developers working on Mass Effect 5 to blame the game as much as possible.

I would honestly encourage that team to scapegoat Veilguard as much as they need to, to get what they need from the organisation, whether it’s true or not.

In the same interview, he also said that the publisher wouldn’t know greenlight remasters or remakes of the first three Dragon Age games. This shows that EA has little to no hope from BioWare.
