RE Village's Success Knows No Bounds!

Story Highlight
  • Resident Evil Village serves as Capcom’s latest mainline entry.
  • The game has sold over 10 million copies in just three years.
  • This makes it the first Resident Evil game in the series to achieve this milestone in this limited timeframe.

Resident Evil debuted in 1996 and has remained relevant to this date, thanks to the massive fanbase it garnered. Capcom has recently been on a spree of launching remakes, and it has exceeded everyone’s expectations with the Resident Evil 4 remake.

The developer is also focusing on a new mainline entry, which is said to be arriving next year. Till then, the publisher’s existing titles continue to perform well, with Resident Evil Village recently reaching 10 million sales.

Why it matters: Resident Evil Village is the direct sequel to Biohazard and features a beautifully crafted story that expands on the narrative from Biohazard.

Resident Evil Village Has Great Visuals, Story, and Combat.

This milestone was just confirmed by Capcom through its official website. Moreover, this is the first game in the Resident Evil franchise ever to reach this milestone in such a time span.

Resident Evil Village surpassed 10 million units in the three years.

-Capcom

While there are faster-selling entries in this IP, this is a well-deserved accolade for Resident Evil Village. Released in May 2021, it is just over three years old, but it still looks so good.

The game features great visuals, an impeccable atmosphere bolstered by first-person gameplay, and, of course, incredibly satisfying combat.

Resident Evil Village was brilliant as it maintained the horror elements from the previous games and added more action-oriented gameplay so players would not get bored.

There were way more enemies, which is how you can enjoy the combat mechanics to the fullest. The previous year, this entry reached the milestone of 8 million sales, and within a year, Capcom sold 2 million more copies.

This is interesting to see for such an old title, and it goes to show how great and distinct each modern Resident Evil entry is. For obvious reasons, Lady Dimitrescu is also a huge reason for this entry’s popularity.

Nonetheless, if you have yet to pick up this Capcom title, there is no better time to do so. The game is cheaper than ever today, and with Resident Evil 9 supposedly coming up next year, there is plenty of time to go through its predecessor.
