Xbox Releasing Two Next-Gen Consoles In 2026!

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 was previously targeting the release window in 2025.
  • A recent report has suggested that Rockstar might delay the game to 2026.
  • This potential delay could work in the favor of Xbox as GTA 6 is likely to offer better performance.
  • Rockstar might also consider releasing it with 60FPS on the next-gen Xbox consoles.

Many were confident that Rockstar would release GTA 6 in 2025. The game was expected to be released in late 2025, but an insider claimed that Rockstar aims for an early 2025 release window.

However, later, it was reported that the Rockstar is expected to delay the game to 2026. While this caused frustrations among the fans, it might work in their favor and Xbox’s.

The gaming giant plans to release two next-gen consoles in 2026, so GTA 6 could offer better performance or 60 FPS on that.

Why it matters: Analysts have discovered that PS5 Pro lacks the raw power to run GTA 6 at 60 FPS so the delay could be a game change for Xbox.

Next-Gen Xbox Could Run GTA 6 Better

Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed the delay, as the official release date hasn’t been confirmed either. However, the developer did confirm that it will be released in 2025. The report shows that the delay could happen, which might not be as bad as fans expect.

30FPS in the gaming industry is not well-liked due to many factors. So, GTA 6 at 30 FPS won’t be ideal. Even if it’s at 30 FPS, the game will break records but won’t deliver the ultimate experience fans have been expecting.

GTA 6 Might Get Delayed To 2026

Xbox has skipped a pro console for this generation, which seems like a huge mistake. However, the giant is working on two next-gen consoles featuring the biggest technical leap yet.

So, there is little to no doubt that the new tech from Xbox will be able to run GTA 6 at 60FPS if Rockstar targets those framerates. Besides that, the performance will likely be better than the PS5 Pro, so the Xbox will likely sell more units.

GTA 6 has broken many records, and fans are anticipating its release. So, if the game is delayed till 2026, fans might want to play it on the next-gen Xbox for the optimal experience.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Xbox is bound to make a massive comeback if it were to happen.
