- The Intel Core i7-14700KF is down to an excellent price.
- Currently priced at $379, it gives many other processors a run for their money.
- It excels in both gaming and productivity.
When it comes to gaming, AMD has been at the top of gaming processors for a while. Processors like the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 5 7600X cover the budget and mid-range segments, but Intel is not to be underestimated.
With AMD’s mid-range processors topping out at around 8 cores and 16 threads, the X3D chip does not offer much when it comes to productivity.
This is where the recently discounted Intel Core i7-14700KF comes in, offering a mix of both gaming and productivity performance due to its higher core and thread count.
The Core i7-14700KF is currently available at B&H for $379, which is less expensive than other retailers and matches the lowest price the CPU has ever been listed on Amazon.
In terms of specs, the Intel Core i7-14700KF comes equipped with a total of 20 cores and 28 threads. Furthermore, with eight performance and twelve efficiency cores, it serves as the only 14th-generation chip to surpass its 13th-generation counterpart in terms of core count.
Being a KF SKU, the only downside to the Core i7-14700KF is the lack of an iGPU. While this isn’t a big concern, the processor needs to be used with a graphics card. However, we expect most people to know this already.
In addition to excelling at productivity tasks, the CPU can handle practically every modern game. Its 8 P-cores should also be enough for future-proofing, making it a great pick for gaming for several more years.
As suggested by its name, the Core i7-14700KF falls between the Core i5-14600K and Core i9-14900K in terms of performance. While the processor can handle high-end graphics cards without any bottlenecks, it works best on a PC for both productivity work and gaming.
