AMD Brings More Value To AM4 Platform For Gamers!!

Story Highlights
  • After more than 7 years of the AM4 Platform launch, AMD still supports it.
  • AMD launches new 2 new CPUs and 2 APUs at CES 2024.
  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D is Up To 13% Faster Than 13600K

During CES 2024, AMD officially revealed a new CPU called Ryzen 7 5700X3D which is a slightly decaffeinated version of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The performance difference will be small between both processors but the price difference is significant.

The company has also seen the launch of an AMD Ryzen 7 5700 (without 3D V-Cache technology), and two Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT APUs.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D will do a lot of damage to Intel

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D is a processor with 8 cores and 16 processing threads based on the AMD Zen 3 architecture at 7 nm. This processor works at a Base frequency of 3.00 GHz and a Turbo frequency of 4.10 GHz.

This is 300 MHz less in Base compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and 400 MHz at the Turbo frequency. Now, the most interesting of all is its 100 MB of level 3 (L3) cache, and its low TDP of 105W, the same one found in its older brother.

AMD Ryzen 5700 Series Update

Ryzen 7 5700X3D is Up To 13% faster than Intel Core i5-13600K and the most interesting thing about this AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D is that it will go on sale on January 31 at a recommended price of $249

That is, 100 dollars cheaper than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Added to this is that this CPU uses the AM4 socket, so it will be very economical to create a low-cost gaming device. The motherboards are very affordable, and of course, cheap DDR4 memory is also used.

Additionally, we will have an AMD Ryzen 7 5700. This is another processor with 8 cores and 16 threads. It reaches a Base frequency of 3.70 GHz and a Turbo frequency of 4.60 GHz.

Its TDP is 65W, and of course, it loses the 3D V-Cache technology. So it is a decaffeinated Ryzen 7 5700X with 300 MHz less in the Base frequency. Its price is $175 and, like the rest of the CPUs, it goes on sale on January 31.

Two New APUs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT

The AM4 socket comes even more to life, and after this, Ryzen 5700X3D, two APUs named AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT are added. These are based on the same microarchitecture but are focused on the most basic segment, since they do not offer cache technology, the number of cores is reduced, but they integrate integrated graphics.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT offers a 6-core, 12-thread configuration capable of reaching a Turbo frequency of 4.60 GHz. It has 19 MB of cache, and a simple integrated graphics card to save you from a pinch or avoid buying a dedicated graphics card. Its TDP is 65W and it goes on sale for $140.

Finally, the AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT offers 4 cores and 8 threads capable of reaching a Turbo frequency of 4.40 GHz. Despite reducing the number of cores, it integrates the same 19 MB of cache. It shares TDP and graphics and its price is $125.

With these new CPUs and APUs, the AM4 socket will continue to be very much alive for those people who want to upgrade or build a new affordable PC.
