Call of Duty Games Expected To Arrive On Game Pass Tomorrow

Black Ops 2 May Be On Game Pass Tomorrow!

Xbox officially acquired Activision Blizzard just three days ago after dealing with regulators for nearly two years. With the Call of Duty publisher under Microsoft now, fans have been looking forward to seeing the franchise on Game Pass.

Recently, Phil Spencer stated that the Call of Duty franchise would not be available on Game Pass right after the merger. However, an industry insider suggests multiple Call of Duty games may arrive on the subscription tomorrow.

Why it matters: Call of Duty is the most successful FPS franchise. It would help bring millions of new subscribers to the service, adding to its current popularity.

During a recent appearance on the Iron Lords Podcast, Tom Warren, a reliable industry insider, talked about a previous leak that suggested several Activision games would be available on Game Pass immediately after the acquisition.

He then pointed to Tuesday and said:

“Maybe it’s Tuesday because that’s the next Game Pass drop. I think they’d have some Call of Duty titles. Surely.”

Tom Warren confirmed that Microsoft was behind the recent fixes for older Call of Duty games on Xbox. These fixes led to a massive resurgence for games like Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Recent messages on the Xbox Store also hinted that such games would soon be available on the service. Therefore, it appears the next Game Pass drop will mark the arrival of Activision’s first titles on the service.

The publisher has already confirmed that recent games like Diablo 4 and Modern Warfare 3 won’t join the subscription this year. However, we believe this is an important first step for Game Pass.

Games like Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are still considered some of the best games in the series. Therefore, older Call of Duty games have a lot of appeal to this day, making them a valuable addition to the subscription.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

In the past, Microsoft was quick to add releases to Game Pass after it purchased ZeniMax Media. While Activision Blizzard titles may take longer, the publisher’s backlog should keep fans engaged as Xbox works to deliver the most recent games.

We are also excited to revisit a few of our favorite Call of Duty games.

Game Pass is key to Microsoft’s aims in the console business moving forward, and Activision Blizzard will strengthen the service after Microsoft already delivered releases like Starfield and Hi-Fi Rush in 2023.
