Launching In Two Days!

The upcoming Core i9-14900K is expected to offer a 10% improvement over its predecessor, with an official launch scheduled for the next week. However, it appears the new chip has already made its way into high-end pre-builts listed on Newegg.

Even though the listing has since been taken down, the option for a Core i9-14900K prebuilt system was available from two different custom builders. This includes Skytech and CLX Gaming, offering the yet-to-release processor with high-end components.

Being an enthusiast-level chip, the Intel Core i9-14900K was paired with a GeForce RTX 4090.

Furthermore, the prebuilt systems also featured high memory and storage options. Depending on what kind of memory and storage the users need, the base systems start at $3899 and can go as high as $6999.

The Core i9-14900K is basically a refresh of its Raptor Lake predecessor or the Core i9-13900K. Therefore, it will ship with similar core counts, with Intel using a bump in frequency for more performance.

The Core i9-14900K will feature 24 cores, 32 threads, and 36 MB of smart cache. It also comes in two different TDP configurations known as PL1 and PL2. PL1 is limited to 125W with a base frequency of 3.2 GHz, while PL2 at 253W can go up to 6 GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost.

With a 200 MHz bump in frequency, the Core i9-14900K offers decent performance gains compared to its predecessor. The performance is expected to be almost identical to the highly binned Core i9-13900KS, which can operate at 6 GHz.

With the processor now showing up on Newegg, the launch is imminent. Intel’s latest 900 processor is expected to take the crown for CPU performance, allowing the company to stay relevant in the PC gaming industry.
