Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Console Performance Reworked For Smooth 60FPS

Patch Brings Massive Performance Improvements!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was considered a great addition to the Star Wars universe. The game received a positive reception at launch, but technical issues became the biggest point of criticism across reviews.

Both console and PC versions had their fair share of issues, with consoles having to drop resolution below 720p for the 60FPS target. However, this was still not enough for a smooth frame rate on consoles.

EA has just announced a major patch for the game is set to be released later today, which focuses on console performance. According to EA, the performance mode has been completely reworked for a smooth 60FPS experience.

Why it matters: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was among the many games that launched with a 60FPS mode that did not run too well, with many claiming that the game was not worth playing in its current state on consoles.

The patch is mainly focused on console performance but also adds a few things to the PC version.

EA and Respawn Entertainment have finally disabled ray tracing in the game’s performance mode, which was one of the major reasons for the unstable performance on consoles at release.

Additionally, further optimizations have been made over the last few months, leading to smooth 60FPS gameplay for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. VRR support has also been added to PS5, further mitigating issues from FPS drops.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Fast Travel

For PC gamers, DLSS has been added to the game. Previously, modders had already introduced Nvidia’s upscaling technology to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but official support should ensure that Nvidia users have a good experience with the game.

The studio has also worked on various bug fixes, ensuring that new and returning players can enjoy Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in its best state possible.

The patch follows the announcement of last-generation console ports for the Star Wars game.

Respawn Entertainment has begun work on porting the game to PS4 and Xbox One, and job listings have hinted at initial development for the potential third entry in the Star Wars Jedi franchise.
