New Budget King From AMD!

The Ryzen 5 7500F was recently tested by three Chinese outlets. It was tested against competitors, which include the Ryzen 5 7600X, Ryzen 5 7600, and its closest rival from Intel, the Core i5 13400.

The Ryzen 5 7500F, aside from the lack of integrated graphics, features a total of 6 cores and 12 threads with 32MB of L3 cache. Furthermore, the processor includes a slightly lower base and boost frequency running at 3.7 GHz and 5 GHz, respectively.

This makes it just 100 MHz slower than the Ryzen 7600 while also costing just $180. Three Chinese outlets have tested the CPU, including myDrivers, Quasar Zone, and ExPreview.

All of them have tested the Ryzen 7500F across multiple applications, benchmarking the performance in gaming and synthetic applications.

The Ryzen 5 7500F is just 0.7% slower than the Ryzen 5 7600 in the multi-core test. While in single-core performance, the performance is decreased further to 1.08% because of its lower frequency in Cinebench R23.

The margins are increased further when compared to the Ryzen 5 7600X. The $180 CPU is 6.5% and 9% slower in multi-core and single-core performance, respectively. However, when it comes to gaming, the Ryzen 5 7500F performs surprisingly well.

It was able to beat the Intel Core i5 13400 across all the games tested. This includes famous titles like GTA 5, CS GO, Far Cry 6, and more. All of these games rely greatly on single-core performance.

The Ryzen 5 7500F beat the Intel counterpart by up to 15% performance, showing results like the more expensive Core i5 13600k. Compared to the Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 5 7600, it was able to close the gap with a performance difference of 7% and 3%, respectively.

These initial reviews paint a bright picture of the most affordable chip on the AM5 platform. This also makes it much cheaper for users to jump to the new AM5 platform, with the CPU paired with an inexpensive board like A620.
