Indiana Jones Reportedly Features Both 1st And 3rd Person Gameplay

Will Not Be Limited To Third Person Gameplay!

In 2021, Bethesda revealed a new Indiana Jones game from MachineGames. Despite various showcases over the last few weeks, MachineGames has not revealed much about the game since its first announcement.

However, during the FTC’s recent hearing, Bethesda’s Pete Hines confirmed Xbox exclusivity for Indiana Jones. Following this information, Nick from Xbox Era has reported on the potential camera perspective of the title.

According to the leaker, Indiana Jones will feature both 1st and 3rd person gameplay.

Why it matters: MachineGames is known for first-person shooter games. Previous releases like the Wolfenstein games have been well received, and fans were hoping the developer could use its experience on first-person games for the next title.

Previously, Nick revealed the game would be exclusive to PC and Xbox. Therefore, he can be considered a reliable source of information about the game.

During the latest Xbox Era podcast, he said:

“It’s gonna be both(1st and 3rd person). There’ll be specific sections, some will be 3rd, some will be 1st.”

However, he also clarified that this decision could change. According to Nick, the game is still a few years away, and plans could be changed at any point.

The leaker further stated that players would not be free to choose between first-person and third-person gameplay. Unlike Starfield, Indiana Jones would force players to use different perspectives during different parts of the adventure.

Fans have speculated that MachineGames could take a similar approach to CD Projekt Red. Cyberpunk 2077 is mainly limited to first-person gameplay, but players can drive vehicles in third-person.

A previous job listing also hinted that multiple Indiana Jones games were in development.

The first teaser for Indiana Jones hinted that the game would be set in Rome. While many players would have liked a primarily third-person experience, both perspectives could open up unique opportunities for MachineGames’ upcoming title.

Indiana Jones is expected to be one of the major first-party games for Xbox in the coming years, and fans are excited to see the popular developer adapting the character’s stories into a promising game.
