Selling Much Better On PlayStation In the UK!

Resident Evil 4 Remake has been one of the best releases of the year so far. With no shortage of positive reviews and exceptional sales so far, Capcom’s latest release has captured audiences worldwide.

The game is available across all major platforms except the nearly decade-old Xbox One. Fans can enjoy the game on current-gen consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, while the last-gen owners have the option of using the PS4.

Capcom has not left out PC users either, but most gaming fans in the UK have shown a preference for the PlayStation platform. In Resident Evil 4 Remake’s case, over half of the game’s sales were limited to PlayStation.

As reported by Gamesindustry, 65% of Resident Evil 4 Remake sales were on PS4 and PS5.

This is significantly more than the region’s 20% share for Xbox Series S|X consoles. Capcom’s decision to skip out on a last-gen Xbox One release may have led to lower sales on the platform.

A similar market share was observed for PC, where the game saw 15% of its total sales in the UK. This means that the PS4 and PS5 managed to stay in the lead, even with both Xbox and PC platforms combined.

According to PlayStation, Resident Evil 4 Remake was also the most downloaded PS5 game in other regions like US and EU. Therefore, it looks like the game has seen similar success across different parts of the world.

Even with the lower market share, Resident Evil 4 Remake is also selling well on PC. Before its launch, it was already the 4th best-selling game on Steam. At the time of writing, it is still in the top 5 best-selling games on the platform.

Despite the vast majority preferring PlayStation consoles for the classic horror game in the UK, Resident Evil 4 Remake has become a massive hit on every platform. The remake brings an iconic game to life with updated visuals and gameplay mechanics, making for an excellent experience for returning and first-time players.
