AMD Ryzen 7000 non-X Series Processors Selling Below MSRP In China

Expert Verified By

The AMD Ryzen 7000 series till now have had three separate launches. The AMD Ryzen 7000 series saw the launch of X series chips, followed by the non-X version, offering a lower price and power draw. Finally, AMD launched its much-awaited Ryzen 7000X3D series last month, including the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X3D, offering the best gaming experience.

Among many, China has recently seen good discounts on AMD products. Users in China can now get a brand new AMD Ryzen 7900 non-X version for just 2599 RMB or $370. The AMD Ryzen 9 7900 was launched in China with a price tag of 4299 RMB or $429 and is now more than 14% cheaper than its launch price.

Aside from the AMD Ryzen 9 7900, other Ryzen chips from the non-X series have also seen a discount in price. The Ryzen 7 7700, considered the best price-performance chip for gaming, is currently selling for 1949 RMB or $283 and is below AMD’s suggested retail price of $329.

Furthermore, the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 is also selling below MSRP of 1449 RMB or $210 compared to the official $249 price tag suggested by AMD.

We might also see discounts on AMD Ryzen 7000 non-X series in other countries, where the current pricing on the Ryzen 7000X and non-X series does not make sense. For example, the AMD Ryzen 7900X and AMD Ryzen 7900 are offered at a similar price tag on Newegg.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X costs $426, while the Ryzen 9 7900 is being offered at $429. This does not make sense, letting us believe AMD will also soon reconsider its pricing strategy.

The Ryzen 7000X3D series are currently the fastest chips that AMD is offering. So it would make sense for AMD to adjust the non-X3D chips’ pricing to balance the difference between performance and price.

What are your thoughts on the discounted price of the Ryzen non-X 7000 series in China?
