More Assassin's Creed Goodness!

Over 15 years after the first Assassin’s Creed, the franchise continues to reach new heights. Back in September, Ubisoft confirmed over 200 million copies had been sold across the various titles in the series, and the gaming giant also revealed the future of Assassin’s Creed.

A new leak from reliable source Tom Henderson has confirmed that Ubisoft has even more plans for the series. The publisher is ‘going all in’ with four future games already being planned.

This includes three brand-new titles and a sequel to the upcoming VR game from the series.

The codenames for the three planned games have also been revealed. The co-developers lead Project Nebula from Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation and Rogue. Nebula aims to take players through three settings: India, Aztec Empire, and the Mediterranean

Project Raid could see the franchise going free-to-play with a co-op PVE experience. Similarly, Project Echoes will be a multiplayer title with Ubisoft Scalar from the team behind previous multiplayer offerings from Assassin’s Creed.

Sources also claim that the franchise plans to return to a yearly release cycle, with Project Red scheduled for 2024

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is still coming in 2023, with the franchise returning to its roots after three RPG games in the last few years. The game was directly influenced by fan demand and sought again to place elements like parkour and stealth at the forefront.

Ubisoft is also working on Project Hexe, set in the 16th-century Witch Hunting era, while Assassin’s Creed Red will deliver the much-requested Japanese setting in the series for the first time.

To summarize, the number of projects announced or being planned adds up to a total of 10 Assassin’s Creed games. This includes

  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • Codename Red Set In Japan
  • Codename Hexe In 16th Century Witch-Hunting era
  • Codename Jade (Mobile Game In China)
  • Assassin’s Creed Invictus (Multiplayer)
  • Project Nexus and Nexus 2 (VR)
  • Project Nebula (Three Different Locations)
  • Project Raid (Free Co-op PVE Game)
  • Project Echoes (Multiplayer Game Using Ubisoft Scalar)
