While PlayStation Skipping Gamescom, Xbox Coming Up With Biggest Booth

Expect Plenty of Trailers and Reveals From Xbox!

Story Highlight
  • Xbox recently hosted a showcase that exceeded everyone’s expectations.
  • Following that, the giant announced that it would be attending Gamescom, too.
  • PlayStation is skipping the event for the fifth time, while Xbox aims to bring its biggest-ever booth to it.

PlayStation has made some questionable decisions this year. First, it delisted Helldivers 2, its biggest hit this year, in the majority of countries. Later on, it delisted Ghost of Tsushima from nearly 70% of the world.

After that, it went on with a disappointing State of Play. Now, Sony has announced its absence from Gamescom in 2024. Meanwhile, Xbox recently held a showcase that was spectacular enough for fans to compare it with the legendary E3.

However, Xbox has doubled down on Gamescom, as well.

Why it matters: Xbox has revealed a brilliant lineup of games that will be released this year as well as next year, but Gamescom will bring even more reveals.

Xbox Is Making Its Appearance At Gamescom While PlayStation and Nintendo Will Be Absent

Xbox has just announced that it will return to Gamescom with its biggest booth. We found the previous Xbox Games Showcase superb, so we expected the gaming giant to lay low on Gamescom.

Previous reports already teased that Microsoft had more to show, so Gamescom would be worth keeping an eye on. Xbox has also shared a list of games that fans can expect to see at the event.

The list is shown below, so fans can look forward to these titles once the event goes live on August 21.

  • Age of Mythology: Retold
  • Avowed
  • Ara: History Untold
  • Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
  • Diablo Immortal
  • The Elder Scrolls Online
  • Fallout 76
  • Towerborne
  • World of Warcraft: The War Within

However, fans can expect to see even more games showing up.

Currently, fans are delighted with Xbox since it is the only one of the three giants heading to Gamescom. A fan has even gone as far as saying that Xbox is carrying the gaming industry by itself.

Unfortunately, this event will mark the fifth Gamescom PlayStation will be skipping. The giant doesn’t seem to have any special reveals this year, so fans shouldn’t expect too much. However, PlayStation is expected to release some big first-party titles next year.
