  • The game will come bundled with the Undead Nightmare expansion.

After 14 years of waiting, Rockstar Games has finally announced that Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC on October 29, 2024. This classic game from 2010, regarded as one of the best Western video games, will also include the popular Undead Nightmare expansion.

This is the first time Red Dead Redemption will be available on PC after previously being released on PlayStation and Xbox.

Why it matters: Last month, we reported that Rockstar was preparing to announce Red Dead Redemption for PC. Now, they have made the official announcement.

Rockstar teamed up with Double Eleven, a British studio known for porting popular games, to bring Red Dead Redemption to PC. This partnership aims to optimize the game for new PC players while keeping the classic experience that made the original so beloved.

This release will include several upgrades for PC to provide a modern gaming experience. Players can look forward to support for native 4K resolution and refresh rates up to 144Hz, ideal for high-end setups.

The game will also work with ultrawide and super-ultrawide monitors, giving a wider view of the Wild West. Plus, both Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare will feature support for DLSS 3.7 and AMD’s FSR 3.0, ensuring smoother gameplay and better visuals.

Moreover, Rockstar has added adjustable settings for draw distances and shadow quality, giving players more control over how the game looks. It will also support full keyboard and mouse use, along with HDR10 displays.

Fans have been yearning for Red Dead Redemption to launch on PC.

In addition to the main game, PC players will also enjoy Undead Nightmare, the standalone expansion that brings a thrilling zombie apocalypse to the Wild West. This addition makes the release even more exciting for fans of the original, allowing them to experience it again with better visuals and performance improvements.

The launch of Red Dead Redemption on PC fills a long-awaited gap in Rockstar’s lineup. It’s clear that the developers are committed to making sure this iconic game meets the expectations of today’s PC players.
