PS5 Pro Will Target 4K/60 FPS On Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 With PSSR

PS5 Pro Offers Double FPS Than Base Console!

Story Highlight
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is due to be released in a month, and its console specs are now out.
  • The game will offer 30 FPS at upscaled 4K resolution on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
  • However, PS5 Pro will run at double the frame rates, offering an upscaled 4K / 60 FPS experience.

Kingdom Come Deliverance was released back in 2018 and received a pretty positive reception from the fans. After thoroughly enjoying the game, fans started waiting for a sequel, which will be released in just one month.

The game’s console specs have been officially released, and it seems to paint a pretty picture. To get the best possible console experience with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, fans would have to play it on PS5 Pro. The mid-gen refresh offers a 60 FPS experience at upscaled 4K.

Why it matters: KCD2’s detailed PC requirements are yet to be released, but the console’s specs highlight that the game is highly optimized.

The game will run on each console as follows:

  • Xbox Series S: 1080P / 30 FPS.
  • Xbox Series X Performance: Upscaled 1440P / 60 FPS (unlocked with VRR).
  • Xbox Series X Fidelity: Upscaled 2160P / 30 FPS.
  • PlayStation 5 Performance: Upscaled 1440P / 60 FPS (unlocked with VRR).
  • PlayStation 5 Fidelity: Upscaled 2160P / 30 FPS.
  • PlayStation 5 Pro: Upscaled 2160P / 60 FPS (unlocked with VRR).

While it is a bummer the game isn’t being upscaled on the Xbox Series S to 2K, it will offer pretty good performance on the rest of the consoles. Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will offer the same performance and use AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) as the upscaler.

Meanwhile, PS5 Pro will be able to double the FPS count of its base console, and Series S provides 4K resolution in the pro mode. The mid-gen refresh will offer 4K 60 FPS (unlocked with VRR) in KCD2, which shows the console’s true strength

Fans should notice that the PS5 Pro will use PSSR to run Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 at 4 K 60 FPS, so the resolution will be upscaled. Also, with VRR, players will be able to get more FPS than 60.

The PSSR seems to have caused trouble in many games, as it has been causing visual glitches. However, some improvements have already been made by Sony, and hopefully, before KCD2’s launch, the gaming giant will further improve the technology so fans can have the best experience possible.

What do you think about the latest mid-gen refresh offering double the frame rates than the base console in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Is the PS5 Pro finally showing its true potential?
