Mafia: Definitive Edition is considered an excellent remake despite a few drawbacks. While the franchise hasn’t received a new mainline entry in over 8 years, the Definitive Edition served as a resort for those looking to revisit the franchise.
And now, a new leak has emerged revealing that Mafia: Definitive Edition is set to launch on Game Pass really soon.
Why it matters? The game is finally coming out to Game Pass after 4 years of its launch. This will undoubtedly expose the game to a new audience but with this move Hangar 13 could also be gearing up for the announcement of Mafia 4.
According to NateDrake, a generally reliable source, Mafia: Definitive Edition is coming to Game Pass next month. So, for the fans who still haven’t experienced it, now is the excellent time to return to the Mafia franchise.
Mafia is still among one of the most popular franchises in the genre. The Definitive Edition was certainly a nice addition, but what the fans really wanted and still want is a sequel. That fortunately has come true as Mafia 4 is currently in development.
The addition of Hangar 13’s 2020 release to Game Pass could also indicate a probable Mafia 4 announcement soon. Last month it was expected that 2K would announce a major game in an established franchise. Many expected it to be Mafia, but Civilzation was announced.
The title is indeed expected to be announced soon. Considering that GTA 6 also comes out next year, to avoid getting overshadowed, Mafia 4 could be released before it. This means that the announcement is closer than we think.
For now, either 2K or Hangar 13 hasn’t announced anything officially so it’s better to take this with a grain of salt. But the leaker is a reliable source and the game is already 4 years old, we wouldn’t be surprised if the leak turns out true.
