Prepare To Continue The Fight For Democracy!

Story Highlight
  • PlayStation promised to relist Helldivers 2 worldwide, and it seems the gaming giant has begun to fulfill its promise.
  • Recently, the game has been relisted in various regions on Steam, including Guam, Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and more.
  • Sony will likely restore access to the game worldwide soon.

Helldivers 2 had a very smooth launch after attracting thousands of concurrent players toward the fight for democracy. Unfortunately, its success came to an abrupt halt after PlayStation delisted the game from over 100 countries.

While the gaming giant quickly backtracked, the co-op shooter was still unavailable in these regions until recently. However, it seems Sony has finally started to fulfill its promise, with Helldivers 2 now being relisted in various regions.

Why it matters: This is a reassuring sign since many fans were concerned about Sony’s lack of communication.

Helldivers 2 Changes via SteamDB

According to SteamDB, the purchase restriction has been removed from various countries. SteamDB lists regions like American Samoa, Guam, and Puerto Rico as those impacted by the changes.

Looking at the list of countries, they belong to the United States, so it seems Sony has begun restoring the regions from this country. We can expect more regions to be added to this list soon.

However, it may take a while for the restrictions to be completely removed worldwide. Sony has over 100 countries to address, so the gaming giant will likely require some time.

Interestingly, Helldivers 2’s Steam page was also removed from the non-supported countries recently. However, Valve may have been behind this, considering the restrictions are now being lifted.

We believe Sony will likely issue an official statement on the situation soon. If not, Arrowhead Game Studios is likely to explain the changes since the studio has been quite active in keeping up with the community.

Till then, players across Helldivers 2 are continuing the fight for democracy. The battle does not end here, so the community can always use more participants, and it seems a rejuvenated force will soon arrive once the restrictions are lifted globally.
