Biggest Booth At Largest Gaming Event!

Microsoft recently revealed that the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct managed to gather over 92 million views. These events broke viewership records for Xbox, making them more successful than other showcases.

Following the event, Microsoft had already confirmed that it would attend Gamescom 2023. The gaming giant has now elaborated and stated that Xbox is bringing its biggest booth ever to Gamescom 2023.

Why it matters: Microsoft has already featured many titles in the previous showcases, but some were missing from the event. As such, Gamescom could provide a new opportunity for Microsoft to highlight these games.

Xbox Game Pass Microsoft First Party AAA Games

The blog post from Microsoft states:

“In August, Xbox will be headed to Gamescom. We’ll be setting up our biggest-ever booth to show off the incredible games.”

Previously, Matt Booty was asked about potential appearances for Xbox games at future events. While Microsoft already showed various anticipated games like Fable and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 at the Xbox Games Showcase, several games were missing.

This includes titles like Perfect Dark and Indiana Jones. According to Matt Booty, Xbox has events like Gamescom and another potential showcase for future reveals. Therefore, August could turn out to be another incredible month for the gaming giant.

Bethesda is also attending the event, so it would not be surprising to see a new reveal from the studio. Developers like id Software and MachineGames are already working on their next games but have remained quiet for a few years.

Microsoft is close to wrapping up the Activision Blizzard merger. Following recent attempts to negotiate with the CMA, the gaming giant is expected to take a few more weeks to complete the acquisition.

With the acquisition likely wrapping up in August, Microsoft could use Gamescom for huge announcements about future ambitions with Activision studios. All of this sounds exciting and could make Gamescom another massive hit for Xbox after the recent showcase.
