- CDPR’s latest financial report reveals that The Witcher 4 doesn’t come out before 2027.
- The company’s financial officer states that they don’t plan to reveal the date yet.
- But for some clarity, it won’t come out before CDPR’s incentive program ends on December 31, 2026.
The Witcher 4 was revealed with an explosive trailer at the Game Awards in December 2024. Since then, there haven’t been any significant updates about the title. However, CDPR has some bad news for fans who were expecting it to release soon.
According to its recent financial report, CDPR doesn’t plan to reveal the release date for The Witcher 4 just yet, but it is certainly not 2026.
Why it matters: Ever since the reveal trailer, fans have been hoping that The Witcher 4 would be released in 2026, but now they’ll have to wait much, much longer, as the launch isn’t planned for next year at all.
Talking about its Consolidated Net Profit, the company discussed its goals for the upcoming years, and mentioned that while it does expect to meet its targets, it ‘does not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026’.
The game will not be launched within the time frame of the first target for the incentive program, which ends December 31, 2026.
– CDPR Financial Officer
If this wasn’t clear enough, the topic was discussed again in the Q&A section later. CDPR’s chief financial officer, Piotr Nielubowicz, answered the question about the title’s release, corroborating what was said earlier.
This means that the earliest we can expect The Witcher 4 to release is 2027, which is also based on the fact that 2026 is out of consideration. There might be even more delays based on the state of the industry, so we can’t really say for sure.
Nonetheless, it is bad news for fans who have been waiting for a new entry since 2015. The Witcher 4 hands the reins to Ciri, who replaces Geralt, and the title, for now, seems to be following a much darker path than previous entries.
