$70 Game Discounted By 50% Already!

Story Highlight
  • Suicide Squad has received its latest price cut.
  • Two full months after launch, the game can be purchased for 50% of its launch price.
  • This makes it a much better value compared to the launch offering.

Suicide Squad has been out for over two months, failing to live up to its promise of an enjoyable live-service game. Apart from the initial disappointment, recent additions like the Joker DLC have been upsetting for dedicated fans.

With the game failing to live up to Rocksteady Studios’ massive bar, it should not be surprising that it has been discounted several times in the past. Suicide Squad has now received its biggest discount, with the price being cut by a whopping 50%.

Why it matters: Games rarely go on discounts this big near their release dates, signifying Warner Bros’ live service failure in 2024.

Xbox is offering the game’s biggest discount in its latest Spring sale. While Suicide Squad normally costs $70, it can be had for just $35 on Xbox Series S|X consoles. Unfortunately, no such discounts exist on PlayStation and Steam, though both platforms have offered similar price cuts before.

While the game is far from worth $70, this price might be enough to push curious gamers and fans of Rocksteady Studios’ past work to pull the trigger on a purchase finally.

For what it’s worth, Suicide Squad is not all bad, with various charming interactions in the story mode adding to the light-hearted tone. However, its biggest problem is the repetitive content and poor gameplay diversity.

While there is nothing wrong with looter shooters, watching characters like King Shark using guns is a bit jarring. Elsewhere, the narrative itself is disappointing, but these problems might be easier to gloss over for a $35 purchase.

It is also worth noting that Suicide Squad is falling to a new all-time low price each month.

At this rate, we wouldn’t be shocked if it went down to the $20 sweet spot by May or June. Therefore, waiting for an even bigger discount might not be a bad idea. More content should also be available through the Seasons by then.

In the coming months, Suicide Squad is expected to add characters like Deathstroke. However, long-term support for the game is looking increasingly unlikely with each new update.

Since players have all but lost interest, Warner Bros and Rocksteady Studios might just cut support earlier than expected.
