Silent Hill 2 Gameplay Teased For Next Month’s State of Play

Remake Release Date and Gameplay Expected Soon!

Story Highlights
  • A PlayStation State of Play is expected for next month.
  • Ahead of this event, PlayStation Germany is teasing Silent Hill 2.
  • The remake is expected to be released later this year.

Silent Hill 2 is unarguably one of the best horror survival games ever made. Ever since the remake was announced back in 2022, it had fans hyped for the resurrection of the franchise.

This anticipation has transformed into fans looking forward to new trailers and gameplay footage. While there has been a noticeable lack of marketing since the initial announcement, PlayStation Germany appears to be teasing a new look.

Why it matters: Silent Hill 2 is widely acclaimed as one of the defining games of its genre. The original was launched over 22 years ago, so fans are excited to see what Konami can do with a remake two decades later.

Rumors point out that Silent Hill 2 Remake could be launched very soon. If this is indeed true, a State of Play would serve as an ideal event to showcase a first look at the gameplay. The event should also confirm the release date.

According to rumors from reliable insiders, PlayStation will almost certainly host a State of Play next month. This is a tradition Sony has followed for several years now, but the upcoming event is shaping up to be much bigger compared to previous years.

Late last year, Final Fantasy 7 Rebrith also got a release date at a State of Play. With PlayStation holding marketing and exclusivity rights to both titles, a similar series of events could be followed for Silent Hill 2 Remake.

Developer Bloober Team expects marketing for the remake to kick off soon. Since PlayStation’s showcase is still a few months away, the State of Play could end up being a very suitable occasion to start this marketing.

Silent Hill 2 is expected to arrive later this year on PS5 and PC. The game will be released as a 12-month timed-exclusive, possibly arriving on Xbox once this period is over. Anyhow, it should be interesting to finally see the game and its revamped visuals soon.
