Rainbow Six Siege Sequel Announcement Imminent In 2025!

Story Highlight
  • Siege X, the rumored Rainbow Six Siege sequel or a major update, is reportedly in active development.
  • It is expected to be revealed soon at the Sixth Invitation 2025 event and will feature an engine overhaul.
  • There will also be notable graphical upgrades, including better textures and models.

New rumors suggest that Rainbow Six Siege is getting a standalone sequel, or at the very least a major update with improved visuals and an engine overhaul.

Why it matters: Rainbow Six Siege 2 getting a sequel could turn things around for Ubisoft if it succeeds, but all the hype might just turn out to be a major update for the current game to make it current-gen worthy.

Rainbow Six Siege 2
The insider claims that the Rainbow Six Siege 2 sequel will be announced at SI 2025.

The insider @fraxiswinning on Twitter says that Ubisoft plans to announce Siege X at the Sixth Invitation 2025 event. The final event is scheduled from February 14 to 16.

The rumored sequel is expected to launch during the Year 10 Season 2 window when Rainbow Six Siege will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, which falls in mid-2025.

Siege X is expected to bring huge graphical upgrades in textures and character models. The engine used by the popular live-service title will also be getting a beefy overhaul to make it rival modern AAA games.

It is worth noting that Ubisoft has vehemently shut down any rumors regarding a Rainbow Six Siege sequel last year. The company clarified that this game can already last forever, so making a sequel is wasteful. Therefore, Siege X might just be a major update.

Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Siege still boasts a highly active and healthy community of dedicated players.

Despite all this, there’s also this concern that all the old events will not return in Siege X, with only new ones surviving in the sequel. Regardless, take these details with a grain of salt.

Do you think Rainbow Six Siege is actually getting a standalone sequel instead of a major update? What are your thoughts? Let us know your opinions in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.
