Capcom has already had a very triumphant year, and we are just 3 months into 2026. The publisher released Resident Evil Requiem to great critical and commercial success. Monster Hunter Stories 3 has also been quite a big hit. 

And now their next big game of the year, Pragmata, has gone gold ahead of its April 17 release. The title has had a confusing development cycle with multiple delays, and in 2023, it was even deemed as completely canceled. 

Why it matters: From what we’ve seen so far, and the previews point towards another hit in the making at Capcom. It has been wishlisted over 2 million times, with the demo also earning the same number of downloads.

The development team took to X to thank the fans and announce that Pragmata has finally gone gold. It is all set to meet its announced release date in April, joining a very stacked list of incredible titles for 2026. 

Pragmata has received multiple previews over the last few months, and all of them have praised the title. It did get into a bit of controversy when it was confirmed that the title would be using the notorious Denuvo

Expectations for Capcom’s next game are quite high

Nonetheless, it is going to be one of Capcom’s biggest experimental games to date. The studio isn’t known for having development issues, but since the game came out of them, the expectations are already quite high.
