Counter-Strike Creator Believes Gaming Industry Has Too Many Sh*tty Cash Grabs Now

Story Highlight
  • Counter-Strike’s creator states that standing out in the gaming industry is harder than ever today.
  • He believes this is partly due to the rise of sh*tty cash grab games.
  • The developer also believes that many great games are available today, and those with unique ideas can still stand out.

The gaming industry is bigger today than ever, producing more successes each year. With giants like Valve recording record numbers each year, it’s clear that the industry is in a healthy place as far as player interest is concerned. However, gaming also has its fair share of problems.

Between rising costs, layoffs, and corporate meddling, the industry is navigating various challenges as it attempts to weather the storm. Corporate greed, in particular, is something many are concerned about, with the Counter-Strike creator believing too many cash grab games are being released today.

Why it matters: Because gaming has become so popular, many studios and executives have begun to focus solely on the lucrative opportunities presented by the industry.

During a recent interview, Counter-Strike co-creator Minh Le shared his thoughts on modern gaming. When asked to share advice for those looking to make a new game today, Minh Le pointed out that competition is higher than ever.

This makes it difficult for newcomers to break into the industry, but the developer also noted that the industry is currently saturated with cash grabs. He even emphasized that the original Counter-Strike would have been challenging to introduce in today’s market.

Minh Le argues that original ideas can still thrive in the industry today, but the barrier of entry to creating games is so low that it makes it all the more difficult for unique ideas to stand out in the sea of “sh*tty games.”

The market is really saturated with a lot of sh*tty games where people are trying to make a quick buck.

-Minh Le

Although the developer did not provide specific examples of said cash grabs, he noted that titles like PUBG can make an impact in today’s marketMany others likely agree since creativity is paramount to succeeding in today’s market.

New Bethesda Job Listings Suggest Elder Scrolls 6 Isn’t Even In Alpha Yet; Probably Years Away

Story Highlight
  • Bethesda has posted a new job opening looking for quest designers for The Elder Scrolls.
  • This suggests Elder Scrolls 6 might not even be in the alpha stage of development.
  • It could mean that the title is still many years away from launch at this point.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced almost 7 years ago, back in 2018. Bethesda stated that it was revealed early because of fan demand, and has been quiet ever since. However, fans might have to wait a lot more as the title might not even be in the alpha stage yet.

Despite a 2026 rumored release window, new job listings from Bethesda suggest that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in very early development and might not even have moved to the alpha testing stage at this point.

Why it matters: Bethesda hasn’t seen a lot of success lately, so it could be entirely possible that the studio will take its sweet time for the next installment in unarguably its biggest franchise.

Bethesda is currently hiring quest designers for The Elder Scrolls 6

Bethesda has posted a couple of job openings for a Senior Quest Designer and an Associate Quest Designer. Their jobs will be to create open-world content that tells engaging stories and branching dialogues using proprietary tools.

Now, it should be noted that usually in game development, quest development, and other general planning is done before the alpha stage. However, this can change with the scope and workflow, but usually the quest development comes first.

The Elder Scrolls 5
The next Elder Scrolls could be at least a few years away

So, if Bethesda hasn’t even prepared quests for The Elder Scrolls 6, it means that the title could be many years away for now. We wouldn’t be surprised if the release doesn’t happen before 2027 or even later, and could even turn out to be a next-gen title.

However, take this with a grain of salt, because the process can be a bit different for certain studios, but based on old records, Bethesda does launch its flagship titles after 4 years, and 2027 marks 4 years since Starfield.

GTA 6 To Receive Shorter Marketing Window; Trailer 2 Expected Close To Launch

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 is slated for release in Fall 2025, but trailer 2 has yet to be released.
  • The Take-Two CEO recently suggested that this trailer would arrive closer to the game’s release due to a shorter marketing cycle.
  • He states that shorter marketing cycles create excitement and balance expectations more effectively.

GTA 6 has practically vanished since Rockstar Games debuted its first trailer in 2023, creating a wave of disappointment among fans. While Take-Two recently confirmed a 2025 launch was still in the plans, fans are more interested in learning about a new trailer.

Take-Two’s CEO has now shared a small update on the matter, stating that a shorter marketing window will be more effective for GTA 6.

Why it matters: Rockstar Games previously followed much longer marketing cycles, revealing various pieces of information about future titles well ahead of their release.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the thought process behind Rockstar Games’ secrecy. When asked when fans would learn about GTA 6’s release date, the CEO stated that balancing excitement and unmet expectations would lead to the biggest success.

Strauss Zelnick is confident in the approach Take-Two and Rockstar Games are taking. He also stated that providing marketing material closer to release typically works better than the opposite approach.

As such, GTA 6 will likely receive its next trailer much closer to launch than past titles. This already became apparent after the title was nowhere to be seen for a full year in 2024, but the Take-Two boss has confirmed it himself in the latest interview.

We found that the better thing to do is to provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create excitement.

GTA 6
GTA 6 Arrives At Some Point In Fall 2025

In addition to the fans, many big publishers are currently waiting on the GTA 6 release date to avoid competing against the title. As such, the final release date reveal will be a major deal for the entire industry.

What are your thoughts on the CEO’s words? Let’s discuss this in the comments and on the Tech4Gamers Forums.

Very Few AC Shadows Players Are Finishing Second Act, Suggesting Drop Off Around 15 Hours

Story Highlight
  • New Assassin’s Creed Shadows Steam and PlayStation 5 statistics suggest the title fails to retain players.
  • On Steam, more than half the players have not even finished the game’s first act yet, as only 40.8% hold the achievement for it.
  • The figure drops astoundingly low for act 2 completion; only 2.6% of Steam and 5.9% of PS5 players have seen it through.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has had a stronger start than many gamers expected, with 3 million players reached and 40 million hours played. However, the RPG appears to fail in convincing them to play for long, as new Steam and PlayStation 5 achievement data reveal.

More than half the Steam players have not even finished the game’s first act so far, with only 40.8% of players owning the ‘A New League Rises’ achievement for completing it. The figure drops even lower for PlayStation 5 players, as only 36.9% finished the first act.

To put things into perspective, the first act only takes 2-3 hours if you play at a decent pace and contains most of the tutorials and story setup.

Why it matters: These striking achievement statistics reveal that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has failed to keep gamers interested for more than the first 15 to 20 hours, as very few completed the game’s second act.

Only 2.6% of Assassin’s Creed Shadows Steam players own the achievement for completing the second act.

Surprisingly, this figure drops strikingly low for the second act of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with only 2.6% of Steam players finishing it and gaining the ‘An Oath Fulfilled’ achievement in return. On the flip side, 5.9% of PlayStation 5 players completed the second act.

Yasuke becomes playable, and things start to open up in the second act, with most players concluding it in 10 to 15 hours. Such a huge drop-off around 15 hours suggests players could not bear the modern Assassin’s Creed formula again or disliked Yasuke.

Although 88% of Assassin’s Creed Shadows players finished the prologue, suggesting that most gamers might have just checked out the experience for the first 5 to 10 hours and then stopped playing later.

Only 1.2% of Steam players finished the third act, with 4.24% completing it on PlayStation 5.

On a similar note, Japanese players reviewed Assassin’s Creed Shadows poorly, while some global users criticized it for not clearly revealing interesting game mechanics.

Has Assassin’s Creed Shadows failed to retain most of its players after the game’s second act, or are these statistics not enough to paint a clear picture? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the Tech4Gamers forum.

Reports Reveal Underwhelming Sales For AA Xbox Titles On PlayStation

Story Highlight
  • A report shows AA Xbox games like Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment struggling with low PlayStation sales.
  • Sea of Thieves leads Xbox’s multiplatform push with 1.8M PS5 sales, but it pales in comparison to its Xbox and PC success.
  • Xbox should reconsider its strategy, launching smaller titles simultaneously across all platforms.

While sales for AAA games like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 may be well beyond surprising on PlayStation, the same cannot be said for every other Xbox game.

A new report reveals underwhelming sales for titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and other AA Xbox titles on PlayStation.

Why it matters: Xbox needs to change its multiplatform strategy for smaller AA titles. To replicate the success these games achieve on their own platform, Xbox needs to treat these titles differently, separate from the heavy hitters.

Hi-Fi Rush
Not Even Hi-Fi Rush Could Guarantee Tango Gameworks’ Future

According to a new report by Alinea Analytics, Obsidian’s Pentiment is the worst-selling title from the data, with only 16k copies sold on the PS5. Meanwhile, Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush has also struggled in sales, managing just 137k copies.

Grounded has performed significantly better, selling almost half a million units and currently at 432.2k copies. At the top, Sea of Thieves is the only title with sales above a million units. The game has sold 1.8 million copies on PS5.

Additionally, the report reveals sales for Age of Mythology: Retold, standing at 41k copies sold. However, a verdict on its performance can’t be reached yet since the title was recently ported to the PS5.

Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves Playercount Dropping Massively On The PS5

Although sales for games like Grounded and Sea of Thieves may seem decent, they still lag behind their Xbox and PC launch numbers. A much later release on the PS5 for these games could be the reason behind this sales difference.

If anything, these figures prove that if Xbox wants these smaller titles to succeed, it may want to consider launching them adjacently across all platforms.

Do you think Xbox should consider a day-one launch on PlayStation for these smaller titles? Let us know in the comments below or head towards the official Tech4Gamers Forums.

NieR: Automata Saved The Japanese Gaming Industry, Says Former PlayStation Boss

Story Highlight
  • Former PlayStation executive says NieR: Automata revived the Japanese gaming industry.
  • He says that before NieR, the Japanese developers were chasing overseas trends.
  • That wasn’t working out for them, so the launch of NieR was a paradigm shift.

PlatinumGames launched NieR: Automata in 2017, a time when the Japanese gaming industry was going through a lot of uncertainty. A former PlayStation boss says NieR was the game that helped revive the industry and put it back on track.

Why it matters: NieR was a huge hit not only in Japan but also globally, and has since gone on to sell over 8 million copies on all platforms with universal critical acclaim.

Nier Automata
Nier Automata helped in the revival of the Japanese gaming industry

In an interview with AVWatch, former SIE President Shuhei Yoshida talked in detail about the Japanese gaming industry. He said before NieR, Japanese studios were chasing overseas development trends, which weren’t working out for them.

With NieR’s launch, they observed a big change in the system. Instead of following trends, director Yoko Taro decided it was time they follow their own culture with games and create something that they better understand.

I think the Japanese game industry was revived after NieR so much so that I would say it was before NieR and after NieR

– Shuhei Yoshida

So after the game launched and became a global hit, it became clear that making Japanese things was working out for them and they were selling well overseas as well. This is where the Square Enix-published game helped the industry’s revival.

NieR: Automata
NieR: Automata took the Japanese approach instead of following trends

Not only this, but it also inspired a whole generation of action games. Last year, we saw an excellent entry in the form of Stellar Blade. NieR director praised it, and even had a collaboration with Shift Up Entertainment’s title.

Anyhow, it’s been 8 years since the original game, and PlatinumGames is finally expected to reveal the much-awaited sequel this year. While the studio hasn’t officially announced anything, most fans will have their fingers crossed.

Netflix Games Boss Believes Console Gaming Isn’t The Future

Story Highlight
  • Netflix’s Games department president calls the console gaming model outdated.
  • He says he doesn’t see the future of consoles as children prefer interactive displays more.
  • A child doesn’t dream of owning a PS6 but prefers a more interactive experience.

Netflix debuted its gaming services back in 2021 as a move to increase engagement with the platform. While the debate of its success is still there, the Netflix Games boss says that console gaming isn’t the future going forward.

He says that the current model of console games isn’t right and that young audiences aren’t attracted to it, as they prefer more interactive experiences.

Why it matters: Netflix has been slowly pushing towards gaming for the last few years and even opened an AAA studio for console-level gaming, recruiting various veterans, only to shut it down last year.

Netflix Games
Netflix games boss considers console gaming model outdated

Talking to The Game Business, the president of Netflix Games, Alain Tascan, stated that he doesn’t believe console gaming holds much of a future. He said that 8– or 10-year-old children don’t dream of getting a PS6 but prefer digital interaction.

(For) console, we started to look at the future where the platform is agnostic. Look at the younger generation. Are eight-year-olds and ten-year-olds dreaming of owning a PlayStation 6? I am not sure.

– Alain Tascan

They are inclined more towards digital screen interaction, whether in a car or at home. With consoles, you need controllers and other high-definition elements, a major restriction in the console-games model.

PlayStation 5 Pro
He says the younger audience doesn’t prefer PlayStation consoles

Many fans won’t agree, as console gaming has many adult players. While interactive screens are good for children, they aren’t the way for a more mature audience; they prefer full-fledged experiences.

As for children, most will agree that console gaming is a bit too much. However, based on the kind of games that Netflix has released over the past few years, they are targeting mobile devices, especially a younger audience.

Tencent Will Be A Great Partner For Ubisoft, Says CI Games CEO

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft recently partnered with Tencent to prevent going bankrupt.
  • Many fear that this new partnership may be even worse.
  • However, the CEO of CI Games thinks that they both would work great together because Tencent isn’t deeply involved in DEI.

Ubisoft has been struggling to maintain its mark in the industry for so long now that it had to partner with Tencent. The company has been going downhill for years now. That is mainly because of constant failed releases.

Many thought that it might change with Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but it didn’t. While the game has been successful, it hasn’t generated nearly enough revenue to save Ubisoft. For reference, you can check out our report on why the company was likely to go bankrupt this year.

While many don’t think Tencent is a great partner for Ubisoft, popular figures like the CEO of CI Games think otherwise

Why it matters: Tencent is one of the most hated companies in the gaming industry by the fans mainly because of its obsession with microtransactions.

Tencent is a great partner for UBI. Their impact on culture may only be positive. No DEI written on their forehead—refreshing!

-Marek Tyminski

Tyminski also highlighted that Tencent isn’t involved with DEI, and he thinks that such agendas are counterproductive in the gaming industry, which seems to be a proven fact. The majority of the fans have shown discouragement against the forceful addition of DEI into video games

DEI agendas are counterproductive in the gaming industry, and Ubi’s top management seems ready now to handle it.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
Thanks To Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Release, Other Games In The Series Have Seen More Engagement

Whatever the case, Ubisoft may now be free from the DEI that many fans have complained about. For reference, the biggest controversy surrounding Assassin’s Creed Shadows was the black protagonist, even though there are countless popular Japanese figures who could have been more relevant for the role

We hope to see some positive changes in Ubisoft and its future games. What do you think about this new partnership? Do you support it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below, or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion

Former Marvel’s Avengers Director Has Been Developing New Naughty Dog Game for 3 Years

Story Highlight
  • Naughty Dog is now working on a brand new game that has been developing for over 3 years.
  • The title is being developed by Marvel’s Avengers director, Shaun Escayg.
  • The insider clarified that the mentioned game isn’t The Last of Us 3.

While fans have been demanding a new The Last of Us game for quite some time now, a potential threequel for the series remains unlikely with the developer Naughty Dog shifting its focus towards other IPs.

The studio is currently developing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which won’t be released until after 2026. However, it seems that Naughty Dog may be secretly working on another title that has been in development for 3 years.

Why it matters: Naughty Dog is considered one of the best studios under PlayStation. It’s great to see the developers being utilized to their full potential.

Naughty Dog Might Be The Best Studio Under PlayStation.

This news comes from insider DanielRPK, who published this report on his Patreon. According to Daniel, the said game is being directed by Shaun Escayg, a well-known developer within PlayStation.

Shaun has previously worked on titles like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, The Last of Us Part 1, and the infamous Marvel’s Avengers. His next venture is with a familiar developer studio.

The insider clarified that the title mentioned is not The Last Of Us Part 3. Naughty Dog has repeatedly reiterated that a threequel may not happen.

This could very well be a brand-new Uncharted game, as such an entry was previously suggested to be in the works, starring Cassie Drake as the series’ new lead. Anyhow, the identity of this title remains unknown for now.

Assassin’s Creed Games See Increased Engagement Following AC Shadows Release

Story Highlight
  • The launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows has led to a revival of older games in the series.
  • The biggest increase was observed with Origins, followed by Odyssey and Mirage.
  • Overall, an average of 27% increase in player base was observed across the board.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has done a decent job for Ubisoft. It hasn’t helped the company bounce back completely, but it has still increased some of its stock value. It has also resulted in increased engagement with older Assassin’s Creed games.

According to new data, 9 older Assassin’s Creed games have seen a huge resurgence, leading to an average of 27% increase in their player count on PlayStation consoles after the release of Shadows.

Why it matters: Shadows has been quite a successful launch, gaining 3 million players already, and it has even helped revive the player base of older titles in the franchise as well.

Shadows has helped increase the player count of older Assassin’s Creed (via TrueTrophies)

TrueTrophies has revealed that all games in the series have seen a comeback since Shadows’ release. The biggest increase was seen with Assassin’s Creed Origins, which recorded a massive 51.9% increase in players.

It was followed by Odyssey and Mirage, which saw a 39.4% and 32% increase, respectively. Even very old ones like Assassin’s Creed 2, Liberation, and Black Flag saw people jumping back into the titles.

Assassin's Creed Origins
Assassin’s Creed Origins saw the biggest increase in player count.

Despite an over 25% increase in the player count, Valhalla still constitutes only 16.7% of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ players for the same period. This shows that the latest game is doing pretty well for Ubisoft.

On another note, Ubisoft has partnered with Tencent to launch a new subsidiary, including popular IPs like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. It will work not only on these IPs but also on new projects in the future.

What are your thoughts on Assassin’s Creed games seeing a comeback after the Shadows’ launch? Let us know your opinions in the comments, or join the discussion at the Tech4Gamers forum

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Scores Worst First-Week Sales of The Series In Japan, Outsold By Other Samurai Titles

Story Highlight
  • Assassin’s Creed Shadows opened to the franchise’s worst sales in Japan in years.
  • The RPG debuted at 5 on the Famitsu charts, selling only 17k copies.
  • Furthermore, the Ubisoft title underperformed massively compared to other AAA Samurai games set in Japan.

After months of build-up, multiple delays, and controversy, Assassin’s Creed Shadows finally launched worldwide this month. Despite the negative press surrounding the title, the RPG has been performing decently so far, amassing over 3 million players already and the second-best launch in the franchise’s history.

However, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is having a harder time impacting Japan, with many fans not warming up to the title despite positive reviews from critics. And, as it turns out, the game’s first-week sales in Japan are among the worst in Assassin’s Creed franchise history.

Why it matters: The RPG’s failure to pander to Japanese audiences even after being set in their country is troubling for Western titles.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
The title has performed poorly in Japan, critically and commercially.

As per Famitsu’s charts, only the PlayStation 5 edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows made it into this week’s top 10, selling a mediocre 17.1K copies and sitting at 5th place in its debut week. These launch numbers make it the franchise’s worst start in the series in almost a decade.

Previous entries like Valhalla and Odyssey sold over double the amount in their first week, with even AC Mirage releasing with better numbers in Japan than Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

To make matters even worse, the RPG’s debut week accumulated much lower sales than other AAA Samurai titles set in Japan, such as Ghost of Tsushima, Nioh, and Rise of the Ronin. All these opened to over 50K sales, with Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima selling a whopping 212K units, twelve times more than Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Assassin's Creed Shadows
The RPG could reach 6 million players in a month.

Overall, the RPG performed poorly in its first week, overshadowed by older Assassin’s Creed titles and other Samurai-based AAA games set in Japan. Outside the country, however, the game is doing surprisingly well, with projections putting it at 6 million players in under a month in addition to positive Steam reviews.

Hence, the negative Japanese reception is the single thorn in Ubisoft’s side. Why do you think Assassin’s Creed Shadows is struggling in Japan? Tell us in the comments below, or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

Even The Long-Awaited Batman Beyond Game Is A Source of Anxiety Now

Story Highlight
  • Rocksteady is rumored to be working on a new single-player Batman Beyond game.
  • Once my most-awaited game, now I don’t want to see Batman Beyond ruined by Rocksteady.
  • After losing its vital members and the abomination that is Suicide Squad, Rocksteady isn’t the same anymore.

Since I was a kid, Batman has been one of my favorite fictional characters. I know it’s somewhat cliched, but I’m not ashamed to be a part of this cult. Batman is superb, and I don’t care what anyone says. As such, I love the Dark Knight’s video games.

The day I came across the disc of Batman: Vengeance for the PS2 was when it all began. Out of the many superhero games I’ve played, there’s little that matches Batman. After the Arkham series, I wanted a Batman Beyond game the most, but now, I dread the thought.

Why it matters: With the Batman Arkham series, Rocksteady created a true gem, but that Rocksteady is no longer around, which means Batman Beyond is in danger.

The Unrivaled Batman Arkham Series

Before I delve into the Batman Beyond matter and all the present doom and gloom, let me take a moment of peace and reminisce about the glorious times of the Batman Arkham series. It is superhero gaming at its peak.

Coming from Batman: Vengeance and Rise of Sin Tzu to Arkham Asylum was an unimaginable leap. I sat there in awe, fanboying like crazy when the intro to Arkham Asylum started one hell of a journey. A Batman game that mechanically advanced was something out of a fantasy.

The dream kept on getting better when arguably the best sequel in gaming history came in the form of Arkham City. Everything from the improved combat, the stronger open world, the iconic plotline, and the kick-ass Batman characterization was perfect.

Batman Arkham City: Una secuela impresionante.
byu/alehinio inArgaming

Next was Arkham Origins, which many call an outlier, but for me, it was as Arkham as it gets. I don’t get the hate. The less-mature Dark Knight and the superb boss fights are a true treat. Finally, Arkham Knight is the mechanical peak of the series. No superhero game comes close to the Arkham Knight gameplay for me.

This is peak gaming (Image by Tech4Gamers)
This is peak gaming (Image by Tech4Gamers)

Rocksteady Is A Shell Of Its Former Self

Just thinking about those glorious times makes me want to do a full replay. Putting that aside, all I ever wanted after Arkham Knight was a Batman Beyond game. Like Spider-Man 2099, I absolutely love Batman Beyond. The futuristic take is one of my favorite concepts.

Considering how superb the Arkham series was, the mere thought of a Batman Beyond game gave the past me chills. Unfortunately, this is the point where the sweet dream ends.

I'm starting to miss the ol' Rocksteady..
byu/leniwsek inBatmanArkham

After Arkham Knight, it was all downhill. First, WB’s excessive involvement and no Rocksteady led to the mediocre Gotham Knights. It was apparent this was like a live-service game later modified, and as I expected, I was spot on. Later came Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and all my fears became a reality.

The nail in the Rocksteady coffin (Image by Steam)
The nail in the Rocksteady coffin (Image by Steam)

It was a worldwide shock that the same Rocksteady responsible for the Arkham series created this abomination. It was all but inevitable after all, since Rocksteady’s dedicated creators left their studio, and all the major talent also departed. With Rocksteady an empty shell and WB in control, it was only a matter of time before chaos ensued.

A Butchered Batman Beyond Game Is My Nightmare

After the Arkham series established a superb characterization of Batman, Suicide Squad crushed that legacy into pieces. I still can’t fathom the insulting treatment of the Caped Crusader it presented. With Rocksteady’s talent long gone and the total mess that is Suicide Squad, I’ve convinced myself that the chapter is closed.

Please don't ruin Batman Beyond, Rocksteady (Image by IMDB)
Please don’t ruin Batman Beyond, Rocksteady (Image by IMDB)

Unfortunately, it seems that WB doesn’t want to close it, and instead capitalize as much as possible. A very promising leak has surfaced lately that Rocksteady is working on a single-player Batman Beyond game, and I have nothing but extreme anxiety.

The Trust is gone
byu/griffin4war inbatman

Batman Beyond is my personal favorite and one of my most anticipated games, but that was before Rocksteady fell from grace. After Suicide Squad, I shudder to think just how much of a mess this one will be. I’d rather it doesn’t happen at all than be absolutely ruined by the current Rocksteady.

You get my fears, right? If this were Rocksteady at its peak, I would be celebrating. But I know full well that Rocksteady is not the same it once was, and the existence of Suicide Squad is a constant reminder of the nightmare. Yes, it’s a single-player game this time, but the worst-case scenario frightens me.
