Story Highlight
  • A new report suggests Modern Warfare 3 is coming to Game Pass later this month.
  • An official announcement could be made very soon.
  • It will become the first title in the franchise to arrive on the subscription service.

Ever since Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, fans have been waiting for Call of Duty titles to be added to Game Pass.

While it has already been confirmed that the upcoming entry in the franchise will be released on Game Pass on day one, little information has been available about the older titles until now. Fortunately, a leaker has confirmed that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will be available on Game Pass soon.

Why it matters: This will give the game a huge boost and may lead to more new users for the service.

As reported by Tom Henderson, one of the industry’s most reliable leakers, Xbox plans to release Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on the service in July.

He further stated that an official announcement was supposed to be made alongside the recent confirmation of the subscription service’s price hike. However, he believes an official statement could be released as soon as today.

While the leaker couldn’t reveal the exact day the title will arrive on Game Pass, he believes it could be released in the last week of the month, suggesting that the time is nearly here.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 wasn’t well received by fans for its short single-player campaign and was rated as the worst mainline entry in the franchise.

Activision confirmed that the game still set record engagement for the franchise despite the criticism, suggesting that Call of Duty is too big to die. Whatever the case may have been, it will be worth trying out at least once on Game Pass.

Unfortunately, the leaker did not have anything to share about the older Call of Duty games. However, Activision titles like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are also expected to join the Game Pass catalog by next month. Therefore, fans have a lot to anticipate.
