Marvel’s Spider-Man was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2018. Sony’s first party title saw unanimous praise from fans and critics all over the world. The game was considered a triumph for the super hero genre and many even compared it to the likes of the Batman Arkham games.

A remastered version of the game was released for the PlayStation 5 in 2020. The remaster came packed with features like 60 fps support, ray-tracing and a brand new model for Peter Parker.

The remaster looked spectacular on PlayStation 5 but it left fans wishing for a proper PC version. Features like high refresh rates and ray-tracing are at their best on the PC platform. Therefore, it makes sense that many fans have wanted a PC version for the game since then.

It seems like our prayers have been answered and our wishes have come true. During the most recent State of Play, it was revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered would soon be making its way to the PC platform.

However, the good news doesn’t end here. The PlayStation Blog has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also be joining the original game on PC

The developers have confirmed that the Web Slinger will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store. While Sony hasn’t said much on the technical side of things, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect a great port that fully utilizes the PC platform. The recent God of War port for PC was certainly impressive and the Spider-Man games should follow suit.

Spider-Man’s last outing on PC was just over 8 years ago with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. It seems like Sony has taken great care to ensure Marvel’s Spider-Man lives up to the expectations of PC fans all over the world. PlayStation studios partner, Nixxes Software is handling the optimization for the PC ports.

Jurjen Katsman, Nixxes’ Founder and Senior Director of Development had this to say about the upcoming port,

“I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring. It allows our team to leverage our technical expertise and focus on creating the best possible PC experience that takes advantage of all the exciting possibilities the PC platform has to offer.
