Wolverine Coming In 2026!

Story Highlights
  • A ransomware attack has revealed various Insomniac Games projects planned till 2030.
  • It confirms a 2026 release window for Marvel’s Wolverine and a 2028 release for Spider-Man 3.
  • Marvel’s X-Men is also in development, scheduled for Fall 2030.

Insomniac Games recently suffered from a ransomware attack. This attack led to information about the developers and Marvel’s Wolverine being leaked online, with the attackers threatening to leak more information in the coming days.

Just a few days later, test gameplay footage and Insomniac Games’ internal roadmap have leaked. According to the leaks, Marvel’s Wolverine is coming in Fall 2026.

Why it matters: The leak is massive, and it shows the studio’s complete lineup of future games, with Insomniac seemingly going all in on Marvel games.

Marvel Wolverine

The leak has been shared over on Neogaf, highlighting multiple projects extending all the way up to 2030.

Among these games, the much-requested Venom spin-off based on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 appears to be coming in 2025. Next up is Marvel’s Wolverine in 2026, potentially the studio’s biggest project this generation.

According to the roadmap, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is planned for 2028, making it a possible cross-gen or launch title for the PlayStation 6, much like Spider-Man: Miles Morales. A new Ratchet & Clank game is also highlighted in the roadmap.

The biggest takeaway from this leak might be the existence of a new X-Men game. This project is yet to be announced or confirmed, but a release window of 2030 is the current target for Insomniac Games.

Marvel's Wolverine SAG-AFTRA

Overall, it seems PlayStation and Insomniac Games will only increase their focus on Marvel projects. With Arkane Austin recently announcing Marvel’s Blade, this could lead to a heated rivalry between PlayStation and Xbox.

This scenario is quite reminiscent of the GTA 6 leaks from 2022. However, in this instance, the attackers may have obtained even more information from Insomniac Games, with an alleged 1.3 million files being available to them.

Therefore, more information about the studio might show up online in the coming days. While some may find it exciting to learn about all these projects before time, such leaks are never to be taken lightly, and we hope they don’t impact the developers seriously.
