Trailer Was Leaked Before Announcement!

Story Highlights
  • The first GTA 6 trailer has been revealed, highlighting a 2025 release.
  • This game will be set in a modern version of Vice City, a location from past Grand Theft Auto games.
  • The trailer showcases the main protagonists, Jason and Lucia, in action.

The long-awaited day is finally here. Rockstar Games has released the first trailer for GTA 6, revealing exciting details about the highly-awaited game.

An unexpected leak gave us our first look at this game last year. Not too long ago, additional leaks surfaced, and in another unfortunate turn, the actual trailer was leaked ahead of schedule.

Therefore, while Rockstar Games planned to release the trailer much later, the studio decided to go ahead and pull the curtains several hours before schedule, giving everyone the first official look at GTA 6.

Why it matters: The GTA 6 trailer is set to become the biggest game reveal in the industry. This trailer will likely break many records in the days to come.

The first trailer looks absolutely astonishing. Grand Theft Auto is finally returning to Vice City, as expected. The detailed exploration of the trailer reveals changes to the city, bringing it into the modern era.

The modern version of Vice City sets the whole vibe for the game’s universe. In the trailer, we can identify familiar locations from GTA Vice City and uncover hints that suggest a contemporary setting with references to current events.

Although the final map for GTA 6 is yet to be revealed, leaks suggest it will be three times larger than GTA 5. Therefore, the game is set to have one of the largest open worlds in gaming history.

Unlike other open-world games with few meaningful activities, GTA 6 will likely brim with life.

The trailer shows fresh characters – Jason and Lucia. This couple is Rockstar’s depiction of the infamous criminals Bonnie and Clyde, and Lucia is also the first-ever female protagonist in the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Concluding the trailer, Rockstar Games has confirmed a 2025 release window.

While the trailer is as exciting as ever, the moment has been marred a bit by the sudden leak.

Rockstar Games certainly did not expect the reveal to play out like it did. The anticipation of the trailer was at an all-time high after eight years of development, but the studio could not reveal the game on its own terms.

Still, GTA 6 looks mind-blowing, and we expect this game to make headlines in 2025.
