- Gears of War E-Day is launching in 2026, with a low chance of release this year.
- Gears of War collection is also confirmed to launch on PS5 and XSX this year.
- No reports about a Nintendo Switch 2 port have come out yet.
PlayStation 5 has been blessed with a couple of first-party Xbox games in the recent past, with Microsoft changing its strategy to sell more copies. Games like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 5 have been a part of this exchange, and if rumours are true, many more titles will head to PlayStation.
If past releases weren’t enough, future exclusives are also predicted to launch on PS5 on the same day they release on Xbox. One such rumored title is the upcoming Gears of War collection, and new information has revealed that the announcement for the game, along with the next mainline entry, is coming very soon.
Why This Matters: Gears of War is one of the most popular Xbox franchises, and a new mainline title in the series releasing soon is reason for excitement among fans.
Prolific leaker extas1s revealed in a new video that Gears of War E-Day, the sixth game in the franchise, is set to launch in 2026. However, there is a very slim chance that it will be moved to this year. Moreover, no info about the Nintendo Switch port was revealed, meaning it might not work.
In addition, extas1s also gave us tidbits about the upcoming Gears of War collection, saying it will be released for the PlayStation on day one alongside Xbox Series X|S and PC. The collection will launch in 2025 and be announced to the masses in June at the Xbox Showcase.

With multiplayer also partially confirmed and a PlayStation launch in the mix, Gears of War E-Day could be a modern classic if done right.
