- Multiple sources are pointing to Forza Horizon 5 as the next PS5 port from Xbox.
- An announcement is reportedly coming very soon.
- Following this release, more third-party releases are expected from the gaming giant.
Xbox’s third-party strategy is no longer a secret anymore. Following PS5 ports of Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and more, the gaming giant has plans to publish even more first-party titles on rival platforms.
Fans are also curious to learn what games will make the cut and move to the PS5. According to the latest reports, Xbox is set to announce Forza Horizon 5 for the PS5 soon.
Why it matters: Forza Horizon 5 is one of Xbox’s best-rated and most-played first-party titles. If it heads over to the PS5, practically nothing can be ruled out for a multi-platform release.
As reported by eXtas1s, Xbox has plans to release Forza Horizon 5 on rival hardware in the near future. The insider says an announcement may not be coming soon, but this racing game will soon head to the PS5.
Various other sources, including Insider Gaming, seem to be corroborating the report. Perhaps an announcement could be coming later this month at Gamescom since Xbox has confirmed intentions to have a major presence at the event.
Earlier rumors have even suggested that Indiana Jones, Gears of War E-Day, and Starfield are being considered for the PS5. If Forza Horizon 5 makes the jump, these would certainly become more believable.
This racing game launched in 2021 and remains one of Playground Games’ best releases. Porting the title to PlayStation could give it a huge boost in terms of player counts, giving PS5 owners the option to play Forza Horizon for the very first time.
Playground Games is currently busy with Fable. Perhaps Xbox plans to create more anticipation for this title through this move since Fable is shaping up to be one of next year’s biggest releases.
