Iconic RPG Returned 3 Years Ago!

Final Fantasy 7 Remake introduces the original Final Fantasy 7, released in 1997, to modern audiences. The original game was loved by many people worldwide, so the remake had much anticipation from the very beginning.

The Final Fantasy 7 remake was released in 2020, more than two decades after the original, and it immediately became a massive hit with the JRPG fanbase. The game was released 3 years ago and has sold over 14 million copies, reaching a huge milestone.

When the game was announced back at E3 by Square Enix, it was a like a dream come true for many gamers. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was no ordinary remake. Instead, Square Enix decided to cover the original story through multiple parts.

Looking at the reception of the first game, the developers made the right call and did an excellent job with the remake. The remake also delivered incredible visuals, bringing the story to life with detailed character models, animations, and cutscenes.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake introduces a blend of turn-based and action combat to appeal to classic and modern audiences. Despite its changes, the combat system proved to be a great innovation on top of the excellent turn-based iteration seen in the original.

The second game in the remake series, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, will also be released soon and will continue the story after the first game. There is no confirmation about the game’s release yet, but it is expected to be released in 2024, after the much anticipated Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is still an excellent buy for those who have not tried the game yet. The game has also been given away for free on PS Plus before and can be found on the PS Plus Extra subscription.

Looking at the game’s success, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth might potentially deliver an even better experience and surpass the first remake. Aside from that, did you enjoy the game? Are you waiting for the next entry? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section.
