Final Fantasy 16 is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and fans are nearly two months away from playing the game. The sixteen mainline installment in the Final Fantasy franchise promises an epic action RPG and will be released as a PS5 console exclusive.
As the release date is coming near, the developers continue to reveal more information about the game. PlayStation recently promised Final Fantasy 16 gameplay during the PlayStation State of Play.
The State of Play revealed nearly 25 minutes of gameplay of the game, focusing on aspects like large-scale battles, combat systems, and more. Square Enix also announced more details on the game’s RPG mechanics.
Following the PlayStation State of Play, Final Fantasy 16 is currently the best-selling PS5 game on Amazon.
As seen in the above screenshot, Final Fantasy 16 Deluxe Edition currently stands at the first spot on best-sellers for PlayStation 5 games on Amazon, while the base game is fourth on the list.
Though the game is still two months away from release, and the Deluxe Edition costs $100, it has managed to pull ahead of the other games. Interestingly, the much anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has also been left behind.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled for launch in two weeks. Despite the recent marketing push and anticipation around the game, recent Final Fantasy 16 gameplay and trailers have kept it in the lead.
Capcom’s highly-rated Resident Evil 4 Remake is also seen in the top 10 best-sellers, though both base and Deluxe editions of Final Fantasy 16 are far ahead of the beloved remake.
Last month it was also confirmed that Final Fantasy 16 had gone gold which means the game is now playable from the start to the end, nearly three months before its release. The producer of the game, Naoki Yoshida, also confirmed that a playable demo would be available a few weeks before launch.
Final Fantasy 16 will be released on June 22, 2023, as a timed console exclusive. Going by recent Final Fantasy games, the game will be available on PC at some point, but the producer recently denied speculation regarding the PC version coming out in 6 months, saying that fans should not worry about the PC version and buy the PS5 instead.
