- A new report has revealed that EA held the most titles among the top 20 most-played PC games in July 2024.
- The Sims 4, EA Sports FC 24, battlefield 2042, and Apex Legends were the four titles from this publisher.
- Blizzard Entertainment was in second place, featuring three games on the top 20 list.
Newzoo regularly reveals the top 20 most played games on PC every month, based on data from 37 countries. This media outlet in trusted in the industry for providing accurate numbers.
It has recently revealed the top 20 most played PC games in August 2024 and in the same report it has been revealed how EA dominated the top 20 list in July 2024. The publisher had four games on the list, which was more than any other giant.
Why it matters: EA is one of the biggest publishers in the gaming industry and is behind the likes of Battlefield, FIFA, and The Sims franchise, so it dominating the monthly charts isn’t that surprising.
According to the most popular PC games by monthly active users in 37 markets report by Newzoo, Electronic Arts holds the spot for being the only publisher with the most titles in the top 20 list.
The top ten games in July 2024 were Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite, The Sims 4, Counter-Strike 2 & GO, League of Legends, VALORANT, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II/III/Warzone 2.0, Grand Theft Auto V, and Rocket League.
The Sims 4 was at the 18th spot before receiving a massive update on July 23rd, but it climbed 14 spots to reach the fourth position. Other than that, EA Sports FC 24 was in the 12th spot, with Battlefield 2042 barely making it into the list due to two major updates and, of course, the massive 85% discount on the Xbox store.
Apex Legends was also on the list. So, EA had four titles in July 2024, while Blizzard Entertainment had three. The report also shows the top 20 most played PC games of August 2024, and it seems like Roblox has usurped Minecraft of its throne.
Also, in August Blizzard and EA seems to be going toe to toe with both of them having three titles in the top 20 most played PC games. Even in August The Sims 4 remain at the 4th position.
