A New Game Was In Development Last Year But Was Scrapped By Embracer!

Story Highlight
  • Adam Jensen’s voice actor has confirmed that a new Deus Ex game isn’t happening.
  • He says that it’s not happening as the people in charge of the series are psychopaths.
  • A new game was reportedly in development till 2024, but was then scrapped.

Eidos Entertainment released the first-ever Deus Ex game in 2000, receiving a strong reception from both audiences and critics. Despite the last game in the franchise releasing years ago, we don’t seem to be getting a new entry anytime soon.

The Deus Ex lead actor has called out the IP owners, who at the moment are the Embracer Group, for being “psychopaths” for not releasing a new game. He previously stated that the franchise still has a huge fan following

Why it matters: Even the last game, Mankid Divided, was pretty well received, so fans have been wondering why Embracer hasn’t decided to work on a new title for so many years.

Deus Ex’s lead voice actor calls out IP owners for not working on a new game.

Elias Toufexis, voice actor of Adam Jensen, the protagonist of Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, took to X to reveal the list of games he is currently working on. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include a Deus Ex game.

He revealed he’s working on Marathon, along with 3 other titles that are still under NDA. This led fans to ask whether one of those is, in fact, Deus Ex, but he denied it, saying that a new game isn’t happening because the owners are psychopaths.

The franchise is still quite popular, so it’s a shame the publishers haven’t considered a new title. Last year, there were reports that, following Embracer’s layoffs, a new Deus Ex game was canceled
